Obviously peak popularity long gone but everything is getting pumped left and right.
Hellmuth and Negreanu should still be popular. Not many sets. Short print runs. 2006 has to be original set right? |

I looked into picking up some poker cards a month or 2 back and I felt like they had increased, not massively like some of the other areas, but they weren't at ATL

A lot of the pumping with certain sports (cards) are by speculators looking to dump, not for long term investment portfolio caliber holds to sell in retirement.
Iconic Key cards in popular sports (i.e., Brady NFL, Jordan NBA, Trout MLB, Gretzky NHL, S Williams WTA, Woods PGA, etc.) are long-term. Poker cards rank below MMA, Wrestling, and Olympic sports. Poker cards probably rank a tad higher than Topps Cornhole cards, Billiards and Bowling. Poker stars have vibrant personalities, but for the most part it's not really a traditional sport and is a competition based upon a little strategy, some offense and defense, but no athleticism. To a degree, I'd say Poker is a better sport than golf 'tho. I can't see a huge future in Poker Cards despite smaller print runs, I don't think the fans of the game collect artifacts like trading cards, for the most part. The only cards I'd consider buying are the celebrity poker cards and autographed cards by the high profile players. |

Well, those Razor poker packs finally sold out because of Covid after over a decade in the bargin bins at Wal-Mart/Target and being on clearance at the big online dealers. Otherwise, it would have probably taken another 20 years for them to sell out.
I wouldn't say the print runs were short. |

If I remember correctly, 2006 Razor is the set that was the most overprinted. Both Blowout and their main competitor used to give packs out for free as a gift option when you spent X dollars.
You can find some old breaks where people got these free from Blowout if you search the forum: https://www.blowoutforums.com/showth...ht=razor+poker https://www.blowoutforums.com/showth...ht=razor+poker I used to see them at Wal-Mart too. And I believe you could buy the 2-pack hangers in bulk from Blowout's competitor, as many as 1,000 at a time for cheap. |

Psa 10s might be tough on these with the borders and most probably not kept in good condition.

I enjoy playing and watching poker but personally never saw it as something I’d collect. It’s a pretty niche market.

John Cynn was in Allen and Ginter. His mini auto is the only poker card I have.

With how much poker has changed in the last decade, I can't see it ever carrying any sort of weight as a viable form of card collecting. Long gone are the days of brash, vibrant personalities like D Negs and PH. They are still around and strong players, of course, but nowadays the game is dominated by very young, predominantly online players who tank for 2 minutes every decision, have little to no personality, and play a GTO + exploitative strategy which isn't as entertaining as the style of the mid 2000's poker boom. Boomers who enjoy raising to see where they are at or putting people on Ace-King aren't going to be buying cards of Michael Addamo or Alex Foxen
