Default Trout 1/1 - To Grade or Not to Grade?

I pulled the Trout image variation FoilFractor from All-Star Rookie Cup. I've never graded anything before but wanted to ask whether you think it's worth it. I'd love to hold the card, but I plan to sell it since I know it's worth more to someone else than it is to me. Not sure if I should grade it first. Thanks in advance!

If you plan to sell, grade.

That's probably a 9 at most. Why dump more money into grading fees?

No premium. In fact raw will probably cost more.

Exactly. However a slab does offer physical protection.

Back corners, specifically top right, show some white. Front corners could be a little soft, but hard to tell with the foil design.

I dont think its worth grading cause it's a 1/1 card and it's the only one in existence so that should give it plenty of value in my opinion. Whatever you decide to do it's still an amazing card!

Yup...any hint of white, no chance for a 10 nowadays.

Grade it if it's mint. Auction it with a consigner, some of which only accept graded cards now.

You could always do a min grade on it, if you are in a position to possibly take a loss on the grading fee.

They also forgot several letters in the sentence about his rookie year performance - specifically, an i, an l and an l... which spells ill... maybe they were trying to tell us something about him? Either that he is in poor health or that he is really good (if they're into 90s slang)...

(Interestingly, no such errors on the base card. I don't have any parallels to check...)

Grade to protect, not grade to save money lol. Since there’s only 1 in the world, there’s no +/- value with it having a grade or not.

Very true. Beckett slabs provide the best protection, but I’m not paying a real premium for them or any other slab.
