Default Bowman's Best Atomic Refractor Appreciation Thread

The mid to late 90's had an explosion of great sets, chrome cards, refractors, atomic refractors, etc. We all love Topps Chrome, I personally always liked Topps Finest the most growing up as a kid, and all these years later I think it is the Bowman's Best sets and the Atomic Refractors that emerged as the coolest cards for the value out there, at least to me personally.

To start 2022 I just picked up the Duncan and McGrady Atomic rookies, so figured it was time to make an appreciation thread. KG is my main PC and I already had a lot of his and AI is probably my 2nd favorite player after KG, so had to get his rookie. There are a ton of others I would like to add to my collection as time goes on, one of my goals.

Let's see your sweet Atomic Refractors please :3

Super nice. I would love to get the Paul Pierce rookie at some point. They started serial numbering them that year and it is definitely one of the more expensive ones, but it is so cool.

And yeah I can't blame people for selling during the boom. I just retuned to the hobby in 2021 so I had a big itch to get lots of cool stuff again, so I was a buyer rather than a seller.

Oh this thread gona be gud. Aside from the AI, Timmy and T-Mac rcs, my most wanted right now are the Penny/Webber Honor Roll and Penny Cuts Atomics. Would love to trade for them if anyone has either one.

I've sold all mine but the 1998-99 ones were always my favorite.

Great cards. The 98/99 cards were my personal favorite as well.

That pierce is slick, I like how Vince (rc year) is guarding him. Here is mine! Have doubles of each.

Love the variety and assortment already shared in here! That LaFrentz is absolute perfection for a rookie card. Here are mine:

Great Robinson cards man!

Yeah the LaFrentz is almost like his popping out of the card, pretty awesome.

I really enjoy the subtle atomic refractor effect with Class Acts, one of the earliest flash double sided 2-player inserts.

Yeah, I really miss rookie cards that utilize in game action shots with some context like teammates and/or opposing players. Even in that same 98-99 set, a lot of the rookies look like they may or may not be playing in an actual game.

Even though it’s not Bowman’s, I think we can make an exception here
