Default The End of a Collecting Journey

When I started PC collecting Chris Paul back in 2006/07 I had the fortune of developing some great friendships across the multiple forums that were really active back in the day (BO, HK, SCF).

My focus was always to assemble the most complete collection of RC/RC Parallels possible(Excluding 1/1's). At that time there were some huge CP3 collectors, (chrispaulcollector, eddiejr, nissandriver) that helped me build and learn.

While my active collecting days ended years ago there were a few cards that just always alluded me...

• 2005-06 Exquisite Collection Rookie Parallel #46AP Chris Paul JSY AU/3

I have long given up the possibility of adding this card to my collection.

That leads me to todays post, I have finally crossed off the final, realistically obtainable, piece to my RC collection. A card that I've been searching for since my CP3 collections started:

• 2005-06 Upper Deck ESPN 25th Anniversary #93 Chris Paul /25

Not high end by any means, but this card was still a unicorn for me and I had all but given up hope that I would add it to my collection. While it does feels great to add, I have mixed emotions about this long journey coming to an end.

Goldin just sold two of these in their last major card auction. The first-number 1/3 sold really high but I was surprised how low the 2/3 sold.

Congrats on finishing what you started out to accomplish. There is a list to be said about your determination and focus.

Yep, was just going to mention this!

In regards to the card you just obtained, it is kind of funny as that exact same card of Ersan was actually thr first Ersan card to be listed on eBay back in September of 2005. I lost the auction, but was able to make n in-person trade with the person that did win the auction a few months later.

Crazy how it took over 16 years for you to find one!

Love reading posts about actual collecting vs “investment this” and “prices that”.
