Minshew balls out in his first start for the Eagles.
Who do you think should be the starting QB for the Philadelphia Eagles going forward and why? |

As an Eagles fan, I say let's roll with Minshew. I don't see that happening if Hurts is healthy.

It’s a pretty interesting question considering the Eagles will probably have 3 first rounders to try to move up in the 2022 draft. Building around Hurts going forward seems most likely to me. I think there’s something there.

he might be, and i know it was against the Jets, but he looked good.
if i'm Philly, i'm riding with Minshew until the wheels fall off. ride that momentum, especially after last week's dreadful game against the Giants.

People act like Minshew is a 33 year old journeyman.

Hurts was inaccurate in college and is still inaccurate. That is not a recipe to win in the NFL.

Still considerably better than the Jets
He also walked over the Broncos defense and Saints defense so…

Hurts had 13 passing TD's this year with 8 INT's in 12 starts. He is a poor Lamar Jackson Not as good of a passer or a runner. He's still near the bottom as a starting QB.

Don't get crazy. As for the other games, do we need to pull his bad games too since you seem to want to defend him? He's not a good QB, he is average at best. If that's what you are ok with then fine. Minshew is not the answer either obviously.

Sure, I’d prefer someone other than Hurts and Minshew myself. But again, what’s the topic of the thread we’re in? I’m not necessarily defending Hurts. I’m “defending” the QB controversy stance OP proposed. There isn’t one. It’s Hurts. And to circle back, it was proposed after one game AGAINST THE NEW YORK JETS

He's running hot and cold, but he's only in year two. I don't think there's a QB controversy presently, but I also don't think the Eagles won't consider trades for RW3 or Watson if they're available this offseason. Hurts would be a desirable trade chip.

Brass tacks. Can a team win a Super Bowl with him? He has been impressive in only 21 starts. He has a higher qb Rate than Peyton Manning after 21 starts.
He deserves a shot for sure. He would be a good fit for a team that needs a QB and can have pieces around him. Denver would be perfect. |
