Not sure if anyone has brought this up but anyone know what is going on with release dates constantly being pushed back? I bought all of the boxes below within 2-3 weeks of the original release date. Prior to this year they might have been pushed back a maximum of a month but usually released with 1-2 weeks of the original release date, if not on the original release date.
1) 2/25/21 - delayed until 12/29/21 2) 4/19/21 - delayed until 1/26/22 3) 7/24/21 - delayed until 12/29 4) 8/25/21 - delayed until 12/29 5) 10/6/21 - delayed until 1/28 6) 10/6/21 - delayed until 1/26 7) 10/15/21 - delayed until 1/26 8) 10/15/21 - delayed until 2/4 9) 11/9/21 - delayed until 12/22 On the 1st box I might end up waiting a full year to get it. I know there are supply chain issues but most of the products that is really impacting don't factor into the production of trading cards. I have a few $k worth of cards I am probably not seeing any of until next year at the absolute earliest. |

Isn't transportation a serious issue in this supply chain mess because of a lack of drivers? Seems to me that would affect nearly every manufacturing process? |

Topps told me at the show that the biggest "issue" was labor. getting people to do the line work

I know there are shipping containers just sitting at ports due to lack of drivers and that seems to be the basic issue now in terms of supply chain issues. That and some products like steel have had their prices skyrocket. I'm not an expert so I'm not sure what materials companies are importing to make cards but it does seem like an industry that shouldn't have gotten hit that hard.

What products are they though? What product has been delayed almost a year?

UD is probably the farthest behind, then Panini, then Topps. So baseball has had it good.

Goodwin Champions. It was originally supposed to be released in like mid-March. The last update has it being released on 12/29, which just from the date seems unlikely. I'd bet money at this point it gets delayed into January or February.

The longer they get delayed, the more likely they're going to get overshadowed by 2022 products containing Wander rookie cards.
Topps might as well cancel them or incorporate them into next year's releases. The 2020 season lost 102 games, after all. |

I know you won't read this because you didn't actually read my original post but I'm talking about a collective 43 month delay so far and an average of around 5 months delay per box already. Probably asking too much but I was hoping for an actual discussion and avoiding posts like this.

Could be that it will be more profitable for Topps not to produce them.

1) Manufacturers are having difficulties finding enough workers, so it's probably taking longer to actually produce the cards. 2) There are transportation logjams everywhere, which means it's harder to get cards from manufacturer to distributor. It's not just cards....it's pretty much anything that is not manufactured/grown/produced locally..... |

As other posters have noted, the problems are many.
Upper Deck has stated that problems in getting supplies has led to cancellation or delays of their hockey products. https://www.sportscollectorsdaily.co...-supply-chain/ |
