Default What about these forums really grinds your gears?

The title says it all.

What do you read on here, that you cant help but get annoyed for no real reason?

For me, its everyone that types RC when they mean to say rookie, and not just rookie card.

When you write "I think Trevor Lawrence will turn things around, and still have a productive RC season" You are saying Rookie Card season.

Another one that bugs me, and I know it shouldn't.

People that refer to a 1/1 NFL shield card, as a "Logoman". I get that they have logo's, with men on them, for the MLB and NBA. But these are the football forums. Don't talk that smack in here!

Not much really.

Sometimes I think people get overzealous about dog piling on "value threads" - yes, sometimes it isn't a pump thread, chill. The "go to eBay, search it" not really in the community spirit.

I also wish people were just more supportive of people's collecting ambitions. Its great to make money and see things get more valuable. But I love the team collectors, or the rookie card collectors or oddball focus some collectors have over any of that. Money's great, I'm here for the cardboard.

Yeah, this is a good one. The other day someone posted their Bad Ass Bledsoe PC, and someone asked "But, why" and made fun of it.

That stuff grinds my gears. Not everything has to be shiny and new for someone to collect anything.

If I saw someone with a vast, and well organized, acorn collection. I'd appreciate that for what it is, even though I don't care at all about collecting nuts.

Not too much other than the overuse of emoji’s.

They are like four letter words. Used sparingly they are highly effective. Use them every sentence and you look like a moron.

That there's not a stickied "Hot Takes Hall of Fame" thread.

Could you imagine an index that reminds us all of the hottest takes?

We could start with the deep analysis of Patrick Mahomes' shoulder problems.

So many people lose their minds over grading.
The market is over saturated as it is.

How about every time someone says "Buy the card, not the grade".

Good gear grinding thing, I too want a "HT HoF". The selection committee would be filled with famous BO members arguing over a yearly mega thread on which takes deserve to be 1st ballot. The Sarah Fuller and Carl Nassib threads are definitely good recent vintages, though the Mahomes shoulder one is still my favorite with the Chad Kelly > Mahomes a close second.

I'd say my gears get ground when there's 20 polls all asking slightly different versions of the same question.

The overuse of the term, "GOAT." Especially when it's used like - "he's going to be one of the GOATs." The term literally means one guy, not multiple.

I'll make an exception if it's used with a qualifier, such as - "he's the GOAT of dunking," or " he has the GOAT arm I've ever seen."

I didn't realize how much you all annoyed me, until I sat here thinking about things to add.

This isn't a Festivus thread, so I wont call anyone out directly.

But how about, when someone thinks up something sort of catchy, and others start using it. Like, I don't know, Poopini

And because of that brief success, they try to come up, and force, other cute mashups. But none of them seem to stick, and they try way too hard making them work.

But without all those HOF threads, I cant hear from a certain member about just how much Leroy Butler belongs in the Hall.

The indecent need for people to be rude or "poopini" (did I do that right) on others asks/questions/marketplace threads.

You mean the pre-“shoe sniffer” era? I agree with “buy the card”….unfortunately, those days ended in February 2020. Now its “buy the grade”…mentality.

Selling gloves to breakers is my new hobby

That is a perfect GOAT response! PSA 10, no subs needed, it's a gem.
