On the field accomplishments...yes. Since he bet on baseball...no. I'm ok with him not being voted in yet. Also, he agreed to a lifetime ban. Those of you whom have never done so go read the Dowd Report and then decide if he deserved to be in.

I guess some of us are better able to compartmentalize his on field play and if he did get in, I personally doubt he would be breaking ground with respect to hall of fame members who have bet on games.
