I am assuming that takes him off the Team USA olympics roster… sucks to lose the best player right before the games. I would be thrilled yet a little bit salty they waited till the worst possible moment for the call up.

The Olympic Team already said he wasn't going to Tokyo, mostly because the Red Sox had mentioned to the US team that they might call him up before the Olympics were over and the US team decided to go with someone who would be able to be with them the whole time
