Digging the RR this year. Not as much as last year's, but I like it more than 2017-2019.

I like Donruss, just wish the base checklist was deeper. This and Score should be the releases where you get some deeper cuts, special teams players, role players.

Excited to see the checklists for those SP/SSP inserts. I prefer my Downtown cards to be from Donruss instead of Optic.

Curious about the Rated Rookies Premium cards.

Interesting. I'm the opposite. Why do you prefer the Donruss version?

Two reasons.

1. I started collecting the Downtowns for my team in 2018 when they premiered in Donruss and I like the continuity.

2. For these cards, I haven’t been a fan of the Prizm effects that they used in 2018 Optic (laser) and 2019 Optic (hyper). The cards have plenty of detail that the extra effects clashed with for me. 2020 Optic had no Prizm effect but there’s no guarantee 2021 does not.

Good point - I didn't really like the laser or hyper effect either. Both interfered with the imagery on the card, which is the biggest draw. 2020 was nice and clean but overprinted, which diminished value and exclusivity.

Part of me was a little envious Panini decided to add the rookie badge on the 2020 Optic Downtowns. The 2020 Donruss Downtowns never had them, but ultimately I am satisfied with the originals.

Is 'No Name' a new parallel in the base set? Can't remember seeing this before.
Looks like an expansion of the variations as well, a full parallel run of them now.

Much weaker draft class but I remember you could buy 2019 Donruss hobby boxes over the summer months for $79. Let me repeat that - $79!!! Two years ago! Got two cases worth at that exact price. Well worth it at that price despite the weaker class.

Donruss has really come a long way design-wise since 2016-18.

Last year's was great and I am loving this design. This will look sick as Optic. This Rated Rookie design will look awesome only if Panini manages to get training camp or other non-photoshop pics.

Closest thing we'll get to Topps Football.

big fan of Donruss last year. Probably my favorite set (Donruss and Donruss Optic) since Topps no longer does football cards.
