Default Where does Ben Simmons go next?

So I've seen some takes on this board that Ben Simmons will be riding the pine within a few years, others from the Philly faithful who are defending him and compare him to Giannis, and of course the notorious 76ers fanatic who now seems to be avoiding BO altogether after talking a lot of smack the last few weeks...
Nonetheless, after Embiid and Doc Rivers' comments yesterday, it seems like Simmons could be on his way out, although given his contract it won't be easy to move him.
Curious what everyone's thoughts and genuine feedback are on this trade I conjured up in my head today, or what other possible scenarios are out there.

Mavs get: Ben Simmons
Thunder get: Kristaps Porzingis, 76ers 1st, Mavs 1st
76ers get: Kemba Walker, Mavs 2nd

Swap a bunch of underperforming players on bad contracts for one another. Luka can play off-ball a little more but he’s still the ball handler down the stretch. Simmons can focus more on defense and facilitating for the bench. Dallas can still space the offense by playing Kleber at the 5.
76ers stay contenders and get a point guard who can actually play at the end of games.
Thunder get more picks because Sam Presti loves them and they hope Porzingis returns to NY form.

Thoughts on this trade / other potential trade options?

I’ll quit watching the Mavs if they trade for this bum.

This was the year for teams to win. Next year is a lock for the Nets already.

I saw this on Twitter last night from some Cavs guys (not a rumor - just a hypothetical)

Cavs get - Ben Simmons
Sixers get - Collin Sexton, Taurean Prince, Cedi Osman

Maybe some pick swaps but basically thing

Theory being the Cavs add a bigger guard (both Sexton and Garland are undersized) that actually plays defense (Sexton and Garland do not) and you build around those two and whoever you get in the lottery tomorrow night.

Now the Cavs would absolutely have to add Offense as Simmons, Okoro, Allen aren't going to give you much. It would be Garland and the Draft Pick.

Cavs dump the Prince and Osman contracts and don't have to make the decision on whether to pay Sexton or not going forward (which is a polarizing debate with Cavs fans)

Sixers add an offensive playmaker, which is the specialty of Sexton, and 2 solid rotation players. Neither is going to light the world on fire but both can contribute for a contender. Embiid gets someone else that can score and create his own shot.

Sixers clear Simmons off the books and then have to make their own decision as to what Sexton might be worth going forward.

Are there better deals to be had for Philly? Probably... this is obviously overreaction Monday... but Sexton ain't too shabby at 22 years old putting up 25/4/3 last year on 51 & 37%

A buddy of mine who is a big Luka fan told me the same thing, but at the same time, you also have to be kind of disappointed in Porzingis at this point and want to move on from him, right?

The Mavs should take anyone that is offered to them for KP (literally anyone!)...except for Simmons. And the Sixers should take anyone including just one ball boy for Simmons. Both have to distance themselves from these players ASAP.

Brogdon and Lamb for Simmons and a pick. Does either team consider this?

I would do that in a heartbeat if I am Philly. Don't think I love it for Indy though.

I wouldn't want a player who can't put the ball in the hoop. That's kinda what the goal is right, to score points?

Maybe sign him for the league minimum if I had the chance just to defend others from putting it in the hoop.

Thunder will want more than one mediocre mid-to-late first round pick to take on Kristaps giant contract.

Simmons does not fit with Luka. Why would you want the ball in Ben's hands when Luka is in the game? You have seconds to score so why limit your offense with a guy who can't score, even if he is a good facilitator? Luka can do both.

Mavs would be foolish to have Luka give up the PG position. The only weird way Ben on the Mavs could ever possibly work is if Ben switched positions and became a PF/C like Dwight Powell's roll but much better defensively, and a better passer too of course.

You don't really use him as a shooter just lobs, pick and rolls etc. His primary job would be defense and setting screens on the other end.

Having said that his contract is astronomical and would be a huge risk. If it doesn't work you're probably getting fired as the new GM. But if it did work you'd probably look like a wizard.

I'd definitely rather have the ball in Luka's hands but my thought is that when Simmons is penetrating, that can provide Luka more open looks than having to create everything himself. Cause during the Clips series, everything ran through Luka and by the 4th quarter, he looked a little winded and the defense could key in on him and nobody else was really able to create shots.
Luka would still be the PG like RogerGodahell just mentioned but Ben can play point forward at times.

There's been some rumblings about moving him. Warren will be back this year and LeVert needs the ball in his hands. If I knew Simmons would stay healthy, I'd do it.

Here’s a spicy one:

Utah gets Ben Simmons and a future 2nd rounder

Philly gets Mike Conley in a sign and trade + Royce O’Neal

Utah could slot Simmons in next to Mitchell and he’s basically filling Royce O’Neal’s role but a wayyyyy better defender (lord knows this team needs one). He’s the secondary ballhandler while Mitchell takes over the starting point guard (should have been the past two years anyways) and you probably would have to throw someone like Miye Oni or Trenton Forrest into the starting lineup but the trade off for defense maybe worth it. Maybe they could still sign a starting guard who can shoot in Free Agency. Simmons would also be the perfect small ball center in the playoffs should they end up needing to utilize him that way defensively.

Philly gets a starting all-star Caliber point guard that fits its current window and a competent perimeter defender.

Idk, just throwing something out there. Would be a hilarious reality check for Simmons all of the s**t he talked about Spida to go from robbing him of ROTY to playing 3rd fiddle to him on Utah!

I’d do that in a heartbeat if I was the Pacers

I’m not a big Simmons hater though… just not. No reason why. I don’t care about him one way or the other. I just think the overreactions today are over the top.

I’d absolutely trade the contracts of Brogdon and Lamb, at their respective ages, if it netted me Simmons

Pacers aren’t winning anything with those guys about to be 30 making what they make
