I own 2 of these redemptions and recently tried to use an Auction service to sell them. The expert at the Auction house recommended that i remove the regular card from the display and get it graded, while basically destroying the rest of the piece.
These redemption cards were for the unused portions of the Jerseys that were NOT used in the previous years UDA Game Jersey cards, basically the Letters and Numbers. The Hakeem is a regular SP Authentic Auto card, like the others from the SP Authentic set, but the Barkley is an actual 1/1 Game Jersey card with a UDA sticker because UD didnt have a Barkely Auto card so they had to get him to Autograph that card to have a card just for this redemption. I cant see any value in destroying the Hakeem display for a regular auto card but does the auction house have the right idea on the Barkley? I cant imagine removing the card from the original piece as being +ev but it cant be graded without doing it, as far as I know. |

Removing the provenance on an already extremely rare card seems foolish

I am not sure which cards these are, but if you provide a photo of the entire display then we can give a better opinion.

Nice pieces! Hakeem 100% just leave as is. Barkley is a tough one. Kept inside the original presentation would still sell very well, and I generally lean toward keeping it original. Potential buyers will have that same thought process of getting it PSA'd though. Some risk involved but if possible to remove it super cleanly without damaging the card or framed piece then.. maybe.. if you are super crafty. If successful, sell the PSA'd card and salvaged framed piece together in the same lot with all of that paperwork. Good luck!

I wouldnt be too sure PSA would grade that without the COA. Not sure how strict they are. You may need to provide copies.

Honestly, I think you would be crazy to do anything to these at all.
I would keep them as is as I think doing anything to them would lessen the value of them. They are sensational pieces! |

"Most people are not interested in the original piece.
Good Luck." After calling him out on destroying the original, this was his reply. I was hoping to use their service since they were in Dallas near me. I also have a Luka x/10 Flawless RPA as well as more older pieces. Last edited by GamerTex; 05-12-2021 at 06:01 PM. |

Yeah, I don't think making the Barkley a graded buy back auto adds any value. As is? It's a pretty historic piece.

Given the fact that the numbers and name plates are game-worn, I would not touch it at all. Super cool piece.

How much for both pieces? They would look great beside my other jerseys.

Just a heads up dude, there is a Barkley super collector on this site that might be interested in the Barkley piece as it is in its original state. If you're looking to sell, you should reach out to him.

If that is the Round Mound from France then we almost had a deal about 10 years ago. I actually had it put in my Last Will that he get it if I died until a few years ago.

Small world. Yes, that's him I'm referring to. Hopefully a deal comes together, he has virtually everything, but I've never seen him post the Barkley item you have, so I'm not sure if he has one by now or not. Probably worth it to shoot him a PM, it would have a good home in his collection. Thanks for posting by the way, I've never seen these UDA items before.

I never seen a Kobe Game Jersey Card with a patch that year in the video. That must a be a killer card now.
