What are the odds Topps ACTUALLY uses the same foil treatments as Black Gold though.

as well as a nod to 1993 Topps Black Gold which Topps calls "the first modern-day insert set." The Black Gold cards will have Blue, Black (/299), Platinum (/70), Red (/10) and 1/1 Gold versions as well as autographs (/10 max).
I wonder what the parallels will look like? I love Update so I'm in for a case. Does anyone know when the pre-order comes up?

Any consensus on what's typically better - 2 hobby boxes or 1 jumbo?

The redemption cards themselves are actually worth money.

Go check out what an ABCD winner goes for!

I really hope they do the black golds right. Favorite cards from the 90s.

Same. I'm afraid Topps will Topps it, though. An actual decent idea coming out of Topps for a flagship release. Hope they don't screw it up.

preorders are live now.

84.95 for a hobby box / 799.95 for a casae
134.95 jumbo / 999.95 per case

considering the going rates for everything else that seemed surprisingly reasonable to me.

And we have no idea what the checklist will be or what rookies could be in it?

If you're a set builder like me, go with the jumbo.

Better question: anyone on the boards still waiting for their 1993/1994 Black Gold redemptions?

Case prices are actually switched around, but I agree these seem reasonable.

So something interesting that is not on the sell sheets for either jumbo or hobby....and I certainly do not want to go down the 2018 Update Black Friday debacle. No mention of silver packs. Could just be a simple omission.

The black golds look awesome. I could do without the 12 parallels, but it was a given. If nothing else it will be comedic to have to call them black gold, black gold blue, black gold black, etc

It seems cheap but the addition of the parallels point to a SIGNIFICANT print run increase. It wasn't like it was hard to find before. 2020 gives us all a really warped sense of reality.

So now you add to that a 50-100% increase in the PR and here we are.

Lots of rookie SPs I think probably what will try to carry it along with the usual set building.
