Hard to believe there is no team thread for the team with the best record in the National League!
If anybody is wondering why the Giants are playing so much better than expected, it's because: - they have the 2nd best starting pitcher ERA in baseball - they have committed only 9 errors and given up only 6 unearned runs - Evan Longoria, Brandon Belt, and Brandon Crawford have rediscovered the Fountain of Youth |

Good for them.
I hadn't even heard that BALCO had reopened.

Is the starting pitching sustainable?

Hopefully they don't start drug testing in MLB!

Bullpen is an issue. Outside of Barragar and Rogers there isn't a reliable arm among them.

Nope. I'm hoping Farhan can find a few decent arms without giving up those guys. I'm willing to give up Bart though.

The Giants success this season is largely because several of their reclamation projects have been great:
Buster Posey: .374/.451/.657 8 home runs Anthony DeSclafani: 2.03 ERA in 9 GS Alex Wood: 1.75 ERA in 6 GS Kevin Gausman improving on his success from last season: 1.66 ERA in 9 GS |

Did Brandon Crawford visit the fountain of youth in the offseason?
Just hit his 11th home run of the season.... |

No way do they trade Luciano, unless it's for another young superstar with multiple years left on contract.

Everyone is thinking that the Giants will go after one of the big-name free agent shortstops this offseason, but I wouldn't be surprised if they go after Bryant instead and re-sign Crawford to a 2-3 year deal so that he can mentor Luciano. Bryant could share 3B with Longoria in 2022 while also playing some LF and DH, and then take over 3B full-time in 2023. |
