Wow!! Can't believe what is on offer. A couple of thoughts;
This is maybe the greatest sports card auction I have ever seen. The supply of Kobe cards hitting the market is both incredible and likely way too much. Last edited by Gem10collection; 04-30-2021 at 08:59 PM. |

Yawn! Just relax, take a break. In a few years things should get a little interesting. These days it's the same ole same ole.

Smart money's cashing out and getting into MUDS and jersey numbered Soto NFTs.

This is what I posted in the Kobe thread before Goldin took the preview away:

But, again, it will be super interesting to see how many cards have been relisted from past auctions.... |

Why was the Kobe Nebula relisted? Pardon my ignorance here, I thought auctions operates differently than EBAY.

Has to be the biggest overall auction of all time. I lost count of how many cards would be in the top 5 or 10 cards in most auctions.

Get them before they end up in collections....
1. "Never to be seen again" 2. "Once in a. life time opportunity" 3. "So rare that, you'll never have another chance at obtaining one" |

Wow, a lot of these are true headliners and super rare, but also a lot of "meh, seriously?" lots mixed in.. like all of those three stooges that close out the auction. Is there even a market for that? Just seems like it clutters up everything and should be run in a different auction entirely in one big lot.

I am very curious to see how the jersey #8/150 Kobe Row 0 RC Legacy does since I own the #8/150 Row 2 (although this one is a BGS 10 and mine is a PSA 8 so big difference there). If I was the seller, I would be pissed at the description. It does not highlight the true rarity of the card.
Kobe only has 2 serial #'d rookie cards - EX Credentials /499 and these legacy /150. He has no 1/1 rookies. I would want this info front and center. |

Curious to see where that one goes on the relist. It already went for cheap last time. |

My first experience using them for this auction. Very anxious/excited to see what type of attention this auction draws. I like the fact that there are some huge basketball cards in here to draw the eyes of some big spenders

Regarding the relisting - i have no idea, but there's also the chance someone is doing a short term flip especially in Kobe HOF Month and it's not a relist

Yeah, some people were projecting it to be at least a $200k card. Still massive gains, I think the owner got that from a Jaspy's break. |

With the 20% buyers premium, I doubt it was for a flip. Something of that value is held for a couple years before flipped.
I wont be surprised if they gave the owner of the card a "reserve" bid. Meaning, let him place a bid and if it sells for less the card doesn't sell.. The card wasn't doing well going into the last day, owner probably panicked, the rest is history.. I'm sure you don't want to hear it, but Yes, it happens. I've seen it personally and recently, not against the rules but really bad practice, even on this platform level. Last edited by 15ncounting; 04-30-2021 at 05:25 PM. |

Heritage states right on their site that they may bid on the cards. It's a built in "reserve". It's not unusual at all.

If there is a reserve, don't they need to state it on the item listing?

Owner bought it to sell in the Kobe Bryant hall of fame auction That card will now be at the HOF ceremony inducting Kobe and every HOF and attendee will get a catalog with it and the other Kobe items in it Original buyer bought and paid for it. I’m here, I read and reply to DMs Try that. Before posting something like this please. Last edited by kgoldin; 04-30-2021 at 06:25 PM. |
