Default How to find a celebrity's first card...

I'm trying to track down and see if Matthew McConaughey has any appearances on an officially licensed card. Really having trouble with any celebrity in general because if they are on one the title of the card is usually by the scene, title of the episode or their character's name. Is there an easier way to do this or am I stuck by just looking up on the trading card database what show or movie had a set?

Beckett.com has a searchable list of more or less every card ever made. That might help. Not sure if there is anything else.

Be a lot cooler if there was....

Maybe check COMC in both current inventory and "sold out"

Nobody mentioned "rookie cards" but yourself. Go troll another thread.

An auto set from Dazed and Confused would be pretty cool!

you have to get creative.
this is a good resource and probably what you're looking for. you might have to take his imbd/cross reference it.

-they used to make snl sets. he wasn't a guest that year, but you get the idea.

-I see people at games for celebrities use the topps first pitch set a lot. NY/Boston/chicago/la seem to be where most of the cards come from.
-he was in angels in the outfield, but looks like only press photos not cards

It's always a fun search look for celebrity cards. Sometimes they are only named by the character they play.

Is this not the non-sports card forum on blowout? What did you expect it to be all Marvel and DC card talk in here?

Might be the most helpful advice I’ve ever gotten on blowout, thanks. Oh I did end up finding some Matthew McConaughey cards.

Are you looking for all modern or maybe some older? I typically go to the PSA
Pop report, click on “search by player name” and then look for the earliest version.

He was in "Texas Chainsaw Massacre the Next Generation". Which is a horrible film and for the love of god don't watch it. But somewhere might exist cards of it. I've seen horror films get cards that defy all explanation.

Looks like you already have some good advice. Another thing to try is to just search his name on eBay. Then filter your search just to show listings in the trading cards category.
