I have a cool 1/1 rc of his, I'll post a picture later when I get home from work.

It's the Framed Printing plate (yellow) of his Topps Finest XRC rookie.

I don't think Chris Paul is anywhere near the term overrated to describe his performance. Chris Paul is a man with strong personality; he's will to win and he's ability on both ends of the court are matched by a very few in the league. I wasn't a fan of his until last year playoff when he led Thunders fought 7 games against Rockets. This season, his performance made me an even bigger fan. I think everybody saw what he did on improving the Sun, however that's what I call a true leader.

He had 19 assists last night. He's 3 away from passing Oscar Robertson for 6th all time on the assist leaderboard.

Exactly. He has to be in the conversation for Top whatever # MVP. I cringe when I here this term right here, but his path this season is a compelling 'narrative.'

Chris Paul makes his teammates better, and that is a true leader.

If you go by advanced stats he is one of the greatest players of all time.

Imagine this was a baseball forum.

He's taking these losers to contenders with great efficient stats. Should be in MVP conversion.

This is why I'm laughing. I remember only me, Ninja and maybe a couple of others were giving CP3 the respect he deserves back in the Clippers days.

Now all of a sudden he's loved. Same with Melo. Yet he still hasn't lead a team to a Conference Finals right? It's just funny to me.

He's in the perfect role though. Taking a non Playoff team to a higher seed.

You just summed it up. You weren't even a fan until last season. Clueless

Chris Paul is one of my least favorite NBA players, it doesn't mean I let it cloud my judgement of how good he is.

Cool story. Wasn't coming after you bruh.

I could probably dig up the threads where literally nobody gave him any respect. Which is why it's hilarious it's taken people 14/15 years to come around.

Cool story, oh man... don't use that line.

Yes, you weren't coming at me but don't pretend just you and one other member thought Chris Paul was good - that's either flat out ridiculous, or just shows how horrendous blowout's collective basketball IQ is

You wouldn't know because you've been here a hot minute. Chris Paul was hated by most. Melo was hated by everyone.

I am not a trophy guy when judging someone's ability and greatness, and I don't blame anyone who didn't win a championship or MVP. For me, a player with strong desire to win and willingness for sacrifice his numbers for the team are the most important factors for me to appreciate a player which Chris Paul perfectly fits in my category.

Why hate Chris Paul? Because he didn't win a title for Clippers or Rockets? Our fans have to be tolerated since there are so many factors outside the court which we can't see. Chris Paul was injured back then; he hated for that than all of us.

For this season, Chris Paul showed he has still got a lot gas left in his tank which is so incredible for a 36 years old man.

By the way, I have no intention to bump his stuff because the real deal simply don't need it.

I love the NBA in 90s and early 2000s when there weren't many super teams back then. This year's Sun is kind of a classic team to me.

He’s probably the player I’d like most to see win a ring...

Charles Barkley, Stockton/Malone, Allen Iverson, Chris Paul and some other big names who don't have a ring are kings without crowns but they are kings anyway.

Agreed.

I remember when the Clips were putting great seasons together I was posting comps of Chris Paul's numbers vs Nash's MVP season numbers. CP had better numbers. And wasn't even in the conversation.

He'll never be better than the Stockton's and Isiah's but he's definitely on Nash's level. The thing is, he was really underappreciated for so long, hated even, I just can't believe how long it's taken people to come round.

6th all time in assists! I can see him finishing his career at #3.

I think Chris Paul is a better player than Steve Nash because CP is a better scorer and much better player on defense. Check this out.

Chris Paul: 1 x ROY, 9 x All NBA, 9 x All Defense, 6 x STL Champ, 4 x AST Champ, 10 x ALL Star, 1 x ALL Star MVP;

Steve Nash: 2 x MVP, 7 x All NBA, 0 x All Defense, 5 x AST Champ, 8 x All Star;

Don't get me wrong, Steve Nash was a great player but I don't think he was as good as Chris Paul since Nash was more liked to be a great passer than an all round player like Chris Paul.
Some people say Chris Paul lacks of MVP and Championship but I personally don't think of that way because there are many factors beyond an individual in order to win a MVP and title. In my opinion, I would prefer all league rewards to judge a player's ability.

Dude wouldn't survive a quarter in the 90's.

Have ya'll seen him crumble when a 5 year old approaches on a bike?

The game has changed, so I wouldn't compare players in different eras. Players of 90s were tough and strong because the rules were allowing more physical contacts, but today's NBA has changed a lot as well as play style of the players.
Today's majority players are more all round and skilled than before. However, if we really want to try anybody in today's league and suppose put him in 90s, I think Chris Paul is one of the few guys who can do that.

Ehhh. I think you can make an argument for either.

Nash was a better leader by far. Nash was better offensively but CP obviously better defensively. CP lead one of the most toxic and petty teams in the last 20 years.

At some point winning has to play a factor and I'd say CP has fallen short a bit too much. His flopping and nut punches are a blemish.

Nash has some pretty big Playoff scalps. His teams were only losing to the Spurs year in and out. I think it was 6 or 7 times. Just crazy.

Chris Paul's teams lost to everyone..

Either way, you're splitting hairs on Nash and CP3. Both are amazing. Maybe Chris Paul can lead a team to the West Finals from the 4 seed? Then roll Utah? Would be a fun series vs the Lakers (most likely).
