Set looks pretty cool.

No mention of sketch cards. Knowing that they've got a set like this in the works for a September release, they should really get the sketch cards into artists' hands NOW instead 3 weeks before it releases.

Ah you mean from an artists perspective you haven’t been asked about sketch cards.

Details clearly say regular and pano sketches.

No clue what takes them so long when all they have to print is the backing for the blanks.

Heck, the ewok/Endor shot has me convinced there are still scenes that we haven't seen on cards a million times already. That alone means this could be an interesting base set if nothing else.

I totally missed that. It was too early when I read the article.

“Ten iconic battles in Star Wars history“

So there’s 9 saga movies and 2 standalone. That’s ignoring all the animated and Mandalorian.

So what makes the cut?

Battle of Naboo
Battle of Geonosis
Battle of Scariff
Whatever Solo had
Battle of Yavin
Battle of Hoth
Battle of Endor
Battle of Starkiller Base
Battle of Crait
Battle of Exogol

I’m assuming Episode 3 won’t count as it was many smaller battles. Only big thing from Clone Wars I can remember would be the recent Seige of Mandalore.

Mandalorian didn’t have any huge battles really.

Could do Battle of Coruscant from the beginning of Episode 3. I'm not sure if anything in Solo qualifies. Battle of Mimban maybe? Battle of Kessel, if you can call it that? The "battles" were smaller scale in Solo.

So maybe Seige of Mandalore will be featured then? I figure they must need an animated battle to give us $5 autos haha

Uh oh, you've got me curious about what Topps calls a "battle". I'll bet we see some small gun fights now. The 2-minute shoot out on Cloud City, for example, or the rumble at the Sarlacc. They gotta spread it out for the inevitable Series 2 of this theme.

They could even do Han/Greedo. The Special Edition, not the original.

Does anyone know why prices skyrocketed the week before release on these.

Even at $1150 a case (what they were in preorder on the big 3 for months), it seemed like a big reach. Now prices are as high as $1700?

Is there something that I missed? The checklist came out and it seems like the usual checklist for SW product that releases at this time.

It's pretty much the same as nearly any card-related release from the last year-plus, no?

That checklist wasn’t great or better than other sets.

Could be the sellers are pumping prices to create an artificial demand/spoke to draw sales from those who don’t know better?

This is the world we live in right now. Expect this with EVERY new release until the bubble bursts.

It’s the unfortunate timing on a set releasing only 3 weeks after a really popular set. Prices have gone up on Chrome due to demand so why not test the waters for the next set if you’re the big 3? A patient hand will probably catch these on the way down. A set like this should never be more than $90/box at release imo.

this is the type of release that would have been clearanced at $55 to $60 a box after 30 days.

The base set has some serious potential for some nice new images. Hoping that is a positive on this one.

Anybody care to take a guess on the print run? Was the recent Chrome set thought to be about 1250 cases or so??

Exactly, this is much more than Topps setting a higher price, this is all BO and the other online distributors. There are smaller places selling product at much cheaper prices.
I have not checked on this product, but I recently purchased multiple retail blasters of basketball and football for $40 and $50 each, where BO was having a "sale" on the same products for $85 and $90 each.
It's time for us to stop buying from these places until the lower the products back to the prices they should be. They had the last year and a half to price gouge us, but that time is just about done.
As nice a Chrome Galaxy was, it was not even worth $100 a box, unless you got lucky or sold sets & parallels at a premium the first week of release.

You know since the past 5+ years Topps Star Wars products can be horrible for $75 / box so why would I ever bother getting any at these ridiculous inflated prices?
I've opened way to many boxes with a $5 auto and a $2 medallion.
Good luck Y'all

Hold on, sketches 1:47, so 6 sketches a case? That would be nice. Somebody tell me what I am reading wrong!

Wow, 24 packs per box so yeah. If that's the case, let's hope quality is high.
