Updated 3/24/21 for Amad Diallo.
With Bernie Sanders overtaking Dr. Anthony Fauci in number of cards sold, here are the current Topps Now Top 10 Print Runs: 1) Bernie Sanders - 2020 USA Election #21 - 91,169 2) Dr. Anthony Fauci - 2020 MLB #2 - 51,512 3) Youssoufa Moukoko - 2020 Bundesliga #45 - 43,697 4) Amad Diallo - 2021 Europa #1 - 20,347 5) Vladimir Guerrero Jr. - 2019 MLB #137 - 19,396 6) Shohei Ohtani/Babe Ruth - 2018 Moment of the Week #1 - 17,750 7) Shohei Ohtani - 2017 #OS-80 - 17,323 8) Kamala Harris - 2020 USA Election #13 - 17,016 9) Aaron Judge - 2017 #654 - 16,138 10) Luis Robert - 2020 #11 - 15,161 What MLB card(s) will crack the Top 10 this year? If Wander Franco gets called up anytime this year, I think his MLB debut "call-up" card will displace Luis Robert and fall between 15,162 - 20,000 sold Last edited by aanewport; 03-24-2021 at 09:03 AM. |

Great analysis. If he were to debut before June (assuming a normal season), it'd be an RC. That would spur sales. I'd be surprised if it cracked 10k though. How many MLB Topps Now cards have broke 5k let alone 10k?

Inversely, I'd be interested in seeing what Topps Now's LOWEST print runs are.
I know the WWE cards often hover below the 200 print run range despite featuring superstars. I guess fans are fans of the sport but not into collecting. I've seen some cards in the 30-40 range and pondered how cool it would be to own the majority of a print run, then waking myself up realizing I'd be sitting on something potentially nobody would care to want. |

Wander beat Fauci, but couldn't get past the mittens.

I believe collecting has been increasing for low-print runs - people are just missing them. Some at Nationals said that the people who wanted the card bought it when it came out. That's partially true, but it's not like everyone is making a clear, concious purchase decision to NOT buy them - they just getting missed amongst all the product releases. Rare is rare. So a Mahomes fan 10 years from now will want to collect His Story, which is best portrayed in on-demand cards, IMO. |

This 2019 Champions League card of Rodrigo had a print run of 13. I think is was the lowest print at the time. Not sure if it is currently.

For reference, I think Panini Instant's highest PR is the Lionel Messi World Cup Trophy pic.
22081 Off the top of my head, nothing really comes close.

Instant/NOW are niche cards. But because they are on-demand and can pretty much be created the day after something happens, there's an opportunity to get something that won't be in most sets. Maybe it's a crazy game winner/walk-off or a quirky thing that happened during the game. There's also a big opportunity especially in basketball to get RCs of guys who were undrafted and suddenly found themselves on a team, especially towards the end of the season. Overall though, I think Panini could have done a lot more with Instant.

Thanks for this list. I picked up a Bernie and Fauci last night. I didn't know they existed. Pretty cool!

1. Victor Wembanyama Rookie of the Year 2024 (VW-6) - 113,777 PR 2. Shohei Ohtani Signs with Dodgers 2023 (OS-21) - 107,541 PR 3. Aaron Judge hits 62nd HR 2022 (1012) - 91,685 PR 4. Bernie Sanders Inauguration Ceremony 2021 (21) - 91,169 PR 5. Steph Curry Olympic Games 2024 (22) - 88,735 Not entirely sure about no 6 but Wembanyama 1st Overall Pick 2023 (D1) is at 72,171 so I'm assuming that's at 6. But yeah not sure about the rest of the top 10. Maybe someone can help compile. Looking at the top 5, Ohtani's PR is most impressive since it was 1 day only. Same with the Judge. Wembanyama was 3 days and Curry was also 3 days. Bernie was open for a week. |
