Of course I will be sending mine in but I want an explanation!

I really want to know why this happened... I work hard for my money and I love the hobby but I was scammed - or - someone tried to scam me. Thanks to RTH for fixing the problem but there really needs to be clarity as to who is responsible.

Is that the same card design as the auto pen version?
So if a person is not familiar with the auto pen version, would there be a way to tell the difference?

They should number, stamp, or otherwise identify the replacements, so they are easy to spot.

My guess is the auto-penned version will become somewhat rare as people exchange these, but will probably never be as valuable as the real autograph card, since there will be sealed boxes of this product being opened years after the redemption program is ended.

I believe the question was if there would be some way to tell the autopen versions from the non-autopens on the cards themselves.

If Rittenhouse just printed up more of the exact same cards, and just had Seth actually sign them that would be dubious.

There needs to be a way to tell which ones are real, without having to constantly reference the picture block of known autopens.

Like Rictor said, they should number or stamp the real copies before circulating them back out. Or even better, use a different picture creating a chase card for the autopens for those that get stuck with them after the redemption period.

BTW, this is classic. MacFarlane just signed these for them, but we need to pay to ship back the phonies and wait 8 weeks for the real ones that are now in house.

You would think they would toss in something extra for your time, money on postage/supplies and trouble, plus get the real version back out to you in a timely manner for their screw up.

I pay to get what I should have gotten in the first place, and I can wait up to 2 months for it? Awesome!

This has Katie Cassidy Super Natural written all over it. Unless Rittenhouse can provide some video or photos of Seth actually signing these. There will always be some uncertainty surrounding these. Seeing as how this isn't the first time Seth used an autopen to sign his autographs. Good luck selling as it would be hard after the whole scandal. Then again there are always people will be unaware. Heck they were still selling his autopen books at BN around black friday.

Think its safe to say RA aren't out to "scam" anyone, seeing as they have been quick to acknowledge and rectify the situation.

It is also quite possible that Seth was unaware of the issue - anybody on his team could have done the auto-pen cards. But whatever the story, do you really think RA would put out any bad press about him? Not going to happen.

Seth/his team are resposnisble for living up to his end of the contract and I think it's quite obvious the pack-out was an oversight on RA's part. I don't think you'll hear much more than that.

His auto cards are not exactly flooding eBay... I doubt there will be much difficulting moving the replacements.

The rest of the autographs in the set, except the Silver autographs, were signed in blue ink, hopefully they will have him sign in blue so it will be an obvious difference.

its not his first autopen rodeo, so I'm sure he has some part in it and hoped it was going to not get caught.

Just bumping this because I'm anxious to see an image of the "real" auto show up. I sent my autopen back a week ago and they say 6-8 weeks to process.
Best to All,
Vinny
