Hey guys, I have an opportunity to pick up one of these two Kobe rookies from a local collector for about the same price. Which would you choose given similar condition? My first inclination is the Ruby, but I’m curious if your thoughts.
*And yes, I know the correct answer is both, but that may not be feasible ![]() |

The precious metals is from series 2. So is it technically a rookie? Remember theres a koobie card in metal series 1.
The ruby from series 1? Or #203?

You better make sure it is legit. We've seen fakes in PSA holders lately.

Ruby all day if it's Series One.
If it's the Series Two Ruby...the Precious Metal would probably be the better buy though you can't go wrong either way. |

It’s Precious Metals, not Precious Metal Gems...Kobe has no PMG rookie.
ETA: And my answer to your question is the ruby.

Really can’t go wrong either way, but I’d go Ruby as well. Harder to find given how they were packed out and a more iconic image.

I’d take the Precious Metal. I just like that card more than the Ruby.

Ruby no question. Don't get me wrong, both are great, but the Precious Metals from that year weren't nearly as rare FWIR.

I like the Precious Metals better but if they’re really close condition-wise like you say, I’d personally go with the Ruby. This is only because they were laid bare in boxes, not actually inside packs.
