Default Duty shipping cards from the US to Canada

I'm shipping some cards from comc to Canada and I'm wondering if anyone had tips on how to reduce duty fees? I have a feeling they're going to be steep.

Or...

Report appropriately

Since that’s what they are for

I thought they take them to their warehouse in Can. and ship from there.
Been a while since I used them, so things could have changed with c-19 stuff.
You might get better answers if you post this in the comc section.

You're charged the duties when you send the cards. It's part of you shipping fee breakdown. You'll know how much upfront.

Not always the case.

I imagine it depends if they use GSP but anything non-sport card related gets charged to the buyer often at the door step. See it a lot with shoes/clothing or other collectibles.

It can be a 25-33% import tax. You can reship with a company that lets you change declared value but you lose out on insuring if you do.

Edit: Yeah im probably wrong, didnt realize you said comc specifically my bad I cant read

Duties and taxes are the responsibility of the buyer (importer) and are based on the value and type of item.

Unless COMC does something completely different than everybody else in the world, you shouldn't be charged anything.

It’s all based on purchase price on the site. So you can’t reduce unless you can reduce purchase price.

They operate in Canada so all Canadian shipments are subject to Canadian sales tax which is what they’re charging and calling it Duties on the website. They’re also tacking on a handling fee like everybody else because duties on Ontario packages for me have always been more then 13%.

Thanks, I didn’t realize they are in Canada now. As a registered small business owner who buys and sells to the US, something doesn’t sound right though. I have never used them, so I am not sure I want to dig into it.
