Default should baltimore forfeit against steelers?

looks like 2/3 of the team caught the Rona. I don't think they'll even be able to put an entire team together, much less be competitive.

49ers put a team together against GB, so can Baltimore

If Denver can play, so can Baltimore. The problem with forfeits is it hurts too many *other* teams who didn’t do anything wrong. For example, in this case, it would be really unfair to the Chiefs to give Pittsburgh a free win and extra week of rest since KC is hoping to catch up in the race for the top seed.

There will already be an asterisk if they go 16-0 because of covid. Don't need two

Steelers players don't get paid either if the game is a forfeit. No sense in punishing them.

No, but this season will become a war of attrition waged by Covid against the players soon if it hasn’t already.

This season is better than no football but unlike the other sports this is not a real season.

Forfeit should be on the table. Here is the major issue besides players not getting played. Let’s say we make it through the season with no cancelled games, or maybe 2-3.

Now you have a week 18 and the NFL opens an 8th playoff spot. Now the Steelers have to play a week 18 game with a couple other teams, or no other teams. The rest of the NFL gets a bye week while the Steelers and any other playoff teams have to play. Then you go right into the playoffs with no actual bye week. It upsets the competitive balance. Plus what happens if Washington has an outbreak next week and the game can’t be played? Then do you make them forfeit and not the Ravens?

To me, if the game can’t be played you makes decision at the end of week 16 whether it’s a forfeit or not. At that point you’ll know how many games will need to be played or how many games had to be cancelled.

Ravens are back in the facility tonight doing conditioning work. Steelers had no new positive tests from yesterday and none reported today. The NFL feels the Ravens positives should be over now according to their contact tracing. I feel like the game will happen.

How is this not a real season? Baseball did the same exact thing that football is doing.

Are you saying if it’s not a bubble it’s not real? The sports that did a bubble basically just needed them for the playoffs/a few regular season games. NFL had to run its full normal schedule in a non bubble format. MLB did a non bubble but a shortened season.

Are you saying this isn’t a real season because the 49ers have lots of injuries/have struggled/not performed to expectations?

No.

No Steelers tested positive from Saturday’s batch and none positive today.

I agree it's not a "real" season....meaning it's not typical. Just like baseball I think a lot of fans will see the COVID seasons as sort of a "farce". No preseason, hardly any camps/workouts, players out during the regular season....how is that hard to see?

if the Broncos had to play.

The Ravens need to suck it up. Boo-hoo. You're going to take another L and inch yourself closer to being out of the playoffs.

I don't want to hear it.

It is a crime that the Broncos game wasn't delayed. The Ravens were supposed to play on Thursday and the game has been delayed until Tuesday. Why the double standard?

The Broncos didn’t have ongoing positive tests. The reason people wanted the game delayed wasn’t because of positive tests, it was because the team didn’t have QBs. That was due to the players not following protocol. The league isn’t going to make changes to the schedule just to help out a team.

The Ravens had an active outbreak and were anticipating ongoing positive tests. To play the game would have resulted in more possible positive tests because of playing the game. That’s why it was postponed. At this point there does not seem to be an active outbreak.

Because the Steelers/ravens rivalry is one of the biggest they have and the care about the ratings. Plus they probably didn’t want to hear the saints complain because you know they would have. Biggest bunch of babies in the league

Oh no! I hope he makes a quick recovery! I have his jersey as we had the same type of cancer.

I think it should be cancelled. The Ravens are still having players test positive. Too risky.
