Default Buyer to block - thriftinblues Chandler Bryant - item dlvd but still opening claim

Ebay will 100% side with me but everyone should be safe and avoid him for the headache. $280 card and tracking shows delivered on 10/16 but he's saying it wasn't delivered at his apartment. Not sure if he's trying to pull a dumb scam or has issues at his place, but either way that's not a valid case.

Item could have been misdelivered and eBay/Paypal doesn't actually side with you in these situations, the seller protection kicks in and eBay/Paypal eats the lost.

As long as I'm covered sure, but if tracking shows delivered to his address I wouldn't think he gets money back. Otherwise everyone would pull that excuse

That's between him and ebay/paypal and he'll likely get his money back, they might make him jump through hoops but if there's no signature there's no record of him actually getting it. That's why signature confirmation is required for over $750 for the seller protection to kick in.

Never seen a buyer get banned for that. If they try it multiple times then yes its possible. Ebay could just decide the seller protection kicks in. Just like with a fraudulent use chargeback Sellers rarely lose those but Ebay and Paypal almost always do. If the seller covers their bases then the Seller Protection eats it. If a buyer has a history of this they usually still do not ban, but they do remove them from the protection program seen many scammers on the Ebay boards and Facebook complaining they are no longer allowed to open claims on Ebay.

That said there are cases where the buyer does not actually get it despite the tracking showing delivered. Porch pirates, mis-delivery or whatever. So he may not have realy gotten the item. Nobody would really know. If he truly did not get it, it is a valid case and you need to be thankful he did open a claim through Ebay first and not go straight to his CC, especially if you are in MP.

Item delivered doesn't always mean it was. I recently had an item say it was "delivered". I knew it wasn't because the seller sent me a message saying it had been damaged and returned to them already. Of course the buyer was totally a scammer and made me go through item not received and have ebay get my payment refunded even after 15 messages back and forth with him saying I'll get my money back eventually.

thats where you could be wrong. just because it shows delivered, doesn't necessarily mean it was delivered to his address.

call the post office, they should be able to give you exact GPS location of where the package was left. and if its an apartment like you said, the chances of mis-delivery increases substantially. I get packages and mail often at my address mean for a neighboring condo. it happens.

I had a packaged scanned as delivered to my address....but it wasn't actually delivered. The carrier scanned it as delivered and left with it in her bin. I called the local post office and they tracked it down.
