Default Tatis Jr, Soto or Acuna Jr long term?

Hello,
When it comes to Fernando Tatis Jr, Juan Soto and Ronald Acuña Jr, if YOU had to choose just one to heavily invest in for long term, which one would you choose and why? Also would you prefer to have a couple PSA 10 rookie cards of your chosen player or a bunch of PSA 9 rookie cards of your chosen player? (PSA 10 vs PSA 9)

Also, would anyone recommend investing in Vladimir Guerrero Jr or Pete Alonso at this time?

Thank you in advance for your thoughts and opinions on this. Appreciate it.

Tatis has the "it factor" over Acuna...and he speaks English which will help his marketability. Short term, Tatis might be the better bet.

Long term, probably Soto. He already has the ring and I think he has the least chance of getting injured in his career.

If you're a collector, get a PSA 9. If you hope to sell your cards, get a PSA 10. Other than the Bat Down Acuna, the flagship cards for all these players are way overproduced and eventually those PSA 10 prices will come down in my opinion.

Alonso is already pretty old, that's a no for me. Vlad will never be a 5 tool player and Soto is a much better hitter.

But buy who you like to watch and don't listen to fools like me.

Juan Soto is a generational bat. Plus his English isn't bad.

Tatis Jr has only played more than 90 games in a season once (2017 in A ball). Acuna Jr seems like Andruw Jones, but with average defense.

Vlad Jr and Alonso need to hire new trainers.

Soto will have the best career.

And when he finally hangs up his cleats, he will reveal that he is actually 56 years old.

Each of your mentioned players has individual threads here in the Baseball forum. Even browsing the last five pages of the thread (Advanced Search) will give you a clear picture of the hobby interest in each of your mentioned players.

Fandom is highly subjective, and you ultimately ought to collect what you like, whether it's a raw PC that passes your eye tests, or some graded cards that you hope to speculate with far into the future.

I would pinpoint one or two cards of each of your chosen players and "hide" them in a box for a few years. You might be surprised to return to them later!

Thank you all for your responses, I appreciate them all. And a very special thank you to those that understood that this was my first post here and that I realized that I am really new to the newer stuff nowadays. What I mean by that is, I have been in the hobby a very long time, starting with cards in the 1970’s then collecting just about anything I could in the 1980’s and 1990’s!!!! I then ventured into collecting just autographs and then just recently decided to sell off my autographs due to Autograph fading issues and begin focusing on the newer shiny stuff like bowman chrome!!! Now mind you, I appreciate your patience because my expertise is the guys I use to watch weekly guys like Martingly, Gwynn, Raines, Canseco, McGwire, Bo Jackson, Roger Clemens and Dwight Gooden! Yes I’m an old fart! I just began watching baseball again this year so I’m just learning about Acuna, Soto, Tatis etc. so thank you to all that are patient with us old guys learning the new guys and learning the new ways of the hobby.

I did not know that these guys were over produced when it came to flagship (I just learned tonight via google search what flagship meant) with their rookie cards being so overproduced , would it be wise to focus on maybe their rookie chrome cards instead of investing in their PSA 9 or 10 topps flagship rookie cards?

Where would you guys rank Bo Bichette with these guys mentioned? In the sane class/caliber?

Thank you all again for your insights and help. I appreciate it.

Andruw Jones...come on now, have some respect for Ronny! Acuna's career OPS+ is better than any single season of Andruw's. Loved watching Andruw play centerfield, but his bat was nowhere in the stratosphere of what Acuna has already accomplished, let alone the prime he's building toward.

Default Tatis Jr, Soto or Acuna Jr long term?

Juan Soto. I’m big on him. When it comes to cards his reminds me of mike trout in terms of how many rc cards he actually has in 2018. He may have a bit more but for popular brand he has a only a few when you compare to the other two players.
(Edit) also wanted to add think about it like this, he has no 2018 topps sapphire, chrome, series 1 nor 2. Just update n update chrome as far as flagship.*
As far as a player? Juan Soto.

Soto seems to have the most bat talent. Tatis has the IT factor. Jury still out on Acuna IMO. He’ll probably go 40-40 next year and silence the critics. Lol.

Buy why only 1 long term? Why not buy 1-2, sell when hot...pick up the 3rd...sell when hot...pick up 1-2 again during a slump or early offseason? Etc etc. Keep a revolving door. Choose your moments. Have a plan. Play off people emotions and short sightedness. Let your money work for you. All while never putting all your eggs in one basket.

Tribal knowledge will tell you that most of the replies you receive on your thread are already rooted in our knowledge and research, which-as you can already attest as a lifelong sports fan-is highly subjective.

Topps (also Panini) have broadened and diversified sports cards so that anyone, anytime, can start with what they like or what catches their eye and gives them something fun and challenging to do...

There are interesting spikes in player prospecting (i.e. before their MLB debut-as with Bowman, in all its' flavors!), and saturation is extremely vulnerable on the secondary market (FIFO pricing and the "race to the bottom" that people chat about). All of this will seem overwhelming at first. It passes. It gets easier with time to understand the jargon and to "ride the wave".

Nevertheless, it's my feeling that there is always going to be someone collecting for the first time...it's always someone's first pack/blaster/hobby box/autograph. And, with any hope, there will always be a community of people who can recognize it, offer their perspective, and share for the love of this hobby...

All of them to an extent.

Soto has a crazy ability to hit the ball and is consistent. His fielding isn't flashy though. I personally think barring injuries he will be an MVP at least once in his career. My favorite thing about him is his 2 strike approach. If I had to pick one and only one he would be it based on batting ability.

Acuna has all the tools, but seems super streaky. Freakish athletic talent, but i agree Andruw Jones clone. Hopefully he stays in better shape. He's exciting as can be when he is on.

Tatis plays the best position. He has all the tools, just needs to stay healthy.

Ultimately what a great time to collect. So much great young talent. For me personally not enough money to go around.

Oh and Vlad Jr. I think a lot of people have counted him out too early. However if he goes another season of mediocre numbers, I think his hobby potential is shot.

Pete is a bust in the hobby. Yes he hit 50 + bombs as a rookie, but that's all he's got. Highly likeable, but he's not going to hit 50 a year. I see him as an Adam Dunn type.

Take all of this for what its worth as this is just my opinion.

Agreed but only 21 years old, not a lot of time to log more games than he has. Was on pace for (roughly) 40/30 last two years as starting SS and leadoff hitter.
