Getting a late start, as I wasn't sure if there was going to be a season. But sounds like they're giving it a shot, so we will too!

Some discussion will need to be had on how to handle things if the season does not finish. But as far as payments are concerned, I'd like to hold everything in Paypal. Leaguesafe is still showing that payments cannot be allocated until 12/29/2020, and in case of any stoppage in the season, I don't want people's money held up in leaguesafe for months. Hopefully, I've earned enough trust to hold this money myself, but if people aren't comfortable, we can pursue other options.

Keeper Rules

a. Each season, each team will be able to extend "keeper extensions" for 0-5 players, which will cost the base price of player (price paid in auction), plus a tax that increases each time you extend a player. Each extension lasts one season. The next season, you will again have the option to extend the player, but at a greater price. You can extend a player up to 3 times, meaning the longest you can owner a player is 4 seasons. There is no requirement to keep keepers, just a maximum of 5.


Schedule of extensions as follows:

Base Value is the original price paid in auction when the player was first drafted.

1st extension: Base value + $5
2nd extension:Previous year's price (1st extension price)+ $5
3rd extension: Previous year's price (2nd extension price) + $7

b. The maximum a player may be kept is 3 seasons (not including the year they were drafted).

c. The minimum base value for a player is $3. So the minimum a player can cost in their first year they are kept is $8. Undrafted players who are picked up in free agency are assigned a base value of $3, regardless of FAAB paid.


g. In order to keep a player, they must be on the roster by the Tuesday after the fantasy championship, when roster pickups/drops cease until the next season.

h. Trades and drops do not affect the keeper value of a player.

i. Example: Team A drafts Matt Forte for $35 in 2017.
i. At the beginning of the 2018 season, if Team A decides to extend Matt Forte for the 2018 season, Team A will be deducted $40 from their auction draft budget.
ii. At the beginning of the 2019 season, if Team A decides to extend Matt Forte again, Team A will be deducted $45 from their auction draft budget. If they do not want to keep him, he goes back to the draft pool, and no price is paid.
iii. At the beginning of the 2020 season, if Team A decides to extend Matt Forte again, Team A will be deducted $52 from their auction draft budget. If they do not want to keep him, he goes back to the draft pool, and no price is paid.
iv. Matt Forte would not be eligible to be extended in 2021, and would return to the draft pool.
j. A players keeper price sticks with them if they are traded to another team or dropped. A player changing teams does not reset the extension timeline and associated price.

Contingency plan for COVID cancellation:
Once the league completes week 10, this league will payout. If the season is ended before the completion of Week 10, all owners will receive a full refund. Once week 10 is officially completed (even if various teams have had games postponed in earlier weeks), if the season is cancelled AT ANY POINT (even during fantasy playoffs), I will pay out to the COVID payout below. Partial fantasy playoff results will not factor into payouts if we cannot complete games all the way to fantasy championship.

There may be a case where a team's games get postponed until later in the season. In those cases, we will follow however ESPN handles those for fantasy. Whatever ESPN shows as regular season record, fantasy champion, etc. will stand.

Standard Payout (Week 16 of NFL season must be completed)
Playoff Winner - $125
Playoff Runner Up - $50
Regular Season Winner - $50
Regular Season Most Points - $25


COVID Payout (based on regular season standings):
1st place - $150
2nd place - $75
Regular Season most points - $25

Will try for that, but may be tough since we're down to a couple weekends left.

$220 salary cap (not sure why ESPN changed the terminology from auction budget to salary cap, maybe to distinguish from FAAB)

Okay, I have tentatively set a draft date of this Friday, 9/4 at 7:30pm ET, based on the feedback I have received so far. Based on this, moving up the keeper deadline date to EOD Wednesday, 9/2.

Please let me know ASAP if this will not work for you.

We have all payments but one. I've given the last owner until noon ET tuesday to pay, as he has been a consistent paying member across many of my leagues over the years. Will have backups lined up in case, so no timelines will change.

Payments are in, so you can make keeper trades if you'd like. Because of the tight timeline, I will approve any trade that doesn't look wildly unfair and process right away. If something is suspicious, we can take a quick vote.

Please post and confirm trades in this thread. Deadline to post trades is EOD Wednesday, 9/2.

Scaling back on leagues I'm running. Work got crazy busy, and with the risk of covid endng the season early, i'm going to focus more on DFS than season long leagues.
