Default BGS walk-ins

Know BGS isn’t doing walk-ins at the moment due to Covid. Has anyone heard when they might open back up? I’m local and have zero interest in mailing in.

I have no inside information, however, I would NOT expect to be able to turn in orders in-person for the foreseeable future.

A big stalemate with the current stimulus package concerns business liability protection. Republicans want it to be difficult for employees to sue businesses over covid issues and more. Democrats virtually want no liability protections for businesses.

So the idea of allowing customers to show up in-person for no reason other then their own convenience is a great way of exposing Beckett employees to persons who have the virus. In theory, this could cause spreading of the virus within the company. In turn, this opens the door for Beckett to be sued for negligence concerning covid protection.

I don't live in Texas, but, I know Texas is a more business friendly state compared to other states like California. So perhaps laws will be passed to help protect businesses from being sued by workers. However, until the federal and state governments make laws permanent so everyone knows what the deal is - my assumption would be that Beckett won't be allowing customers to come in-person for some time.

If I had the chance to turn in my cards in=person, I'd do it too. But, in this era of Covid, the government is telling us that we should be in mortal fear of being around each other. If you can afford to wait to grade, then hold onto those gems. But, if you need to grade now in order to turnover - you might have to go ahead and mail them in. You're going to waiting forever, regardless, considering how everyone is so backlogged.

Same. I'm going to wait it out instead of mailing it in. Live less than 30 minutes from the office and have zero interest in paying for insurance and shipping.

Drive to their local zip PO and the box will never leave the building. Then you dont need insurance.

I like the idea, but I wonder if they'd even let me pick it up from there. Guessing no.

For those who are curious, reached out to BGS rep and was told they still don't have a timetable for when they'll start accepting in-person orders again. Will likely reach out every few weeks to see if it changes.
