Thanks for sharing your break. The box told a story. The repetition of the same auto, followed by the great Spezza, and the finished off by a kick in the sack with that Roy redemption. Does UD still do those raffles for folks who send in old redemption cards? Maybe the story could still have a positive ending.

If there is UD didn't mention it -

Unfortunately, we cannot honor expired redemptions that are over a year past their expiration date. We have to have a start date and end date to all exchange programs. After that end date the product is either destroyed, used as replacements for other projects or awarded to free method of entry participants. Most exchange offers are generally good for 6 months to 2 years so keep that in mind when purchasing older products. Customers can usually get good deals on older boxes and cases, but if there is an issue with expired offers, damage, collation or insert ratio, there is little we can do to help with these products.

Always blows my mind when an old product is opened and a marquee card (Spezza -#2 overall Draft pick) , is pulled 19 years later.

Just makes you wonder how many 1/1s are out there for years, sealed up. I think about Black FW RPAs in particular - the Heiskanen one would be my ultimate whale right now, but you can't get a card that hasn't been opened. (Or it could have been sold a year ago, I wasn't paying attention back then.)

Thanks for the share, fun to see and no matter the sport or manufacturer it's always tough to see an expired redemption superstar pull. I wish it meant enough to anyone to do something about it.

I tweeted them a couple months ago about an expired redemption that I have and they confirmed that they will still be doing the raffles. Once the big shows get up and running again, keep an eye our for raffle announcements.

We have an expired redemption raffle that allows people to send in expired redemptions (autographed redemption cards from products 2005 and newer) to receive a prize. The raffle gives customers a chance to get something in exchange for cards that have expired. The raffle is broken into three tiers based on current Beckett values of the original card. Tier #3 covers cards that have a value of $1.00-$100. We have 100 spots for these cards available in each raffle. Tier #2 covers cards with values ranging from $101-$250. There are 10 spots for these cards in each raffle. Tier #1 Covers cards that have a value of $250+. There are 5 spots available in the raffle. When your cards arrive to our office, they are put in the que. One week before each show, we take those cards and start assigning them spots until all tiers are full. The replacement cards are determined by our redemption center in North Carolina. There are no guarantees other than your card will be sent a replacement card of similar value.

There are 3 raffles per year. They take place at the Spring Expo in Toronto. The National Sports Show and the Fall Expo which also takes place in Toronto. Every card submitted for the raffle will win, it just may take a little bit of time if your cards are in the higher tiers.
