I'd probably pick up a 2003-04 SPA LeBron Auto /500. For the price you won't get a graded copy but you can always send that in to PSA or BGS before putting it away.

Topps Chrome LeBron is the safest one I can think of.

If you are a believer in Zion, I would jump on his stuff now while it's cheap. The budget you mentioned should allow you to get just about whatever you want of his, except an NT RPA.

If you don't believe Zion will measure up to the hype, I would chase a few nice Jordan autos. The nice thing about Jordan autos is they keep their value, and are not released in product very often.

I think it really depends on whether you want to gamble or play it safe If playing safe I would venture towards Jordon Lebron Brady Trout If you want to gamble my first option would be Acuña I’d follow with Zion Mahomes Tatum Soto Durant

I think I had the same thought that a bunch of other people did around the same time, because it was weird how all of a sudden everyone wanted one. For me it was a couple years of thinking about it but never looking into a Tyson RC. Then when Jordan/Lebron, Tiger, and other top tier legends starting to really move up it just kind of made sense that he was wayyy undervalued. A PSA 9 sat there at $1k BIN for a while, then got taken down and then got put back up and sold for $900 / [I saw it when it dropped and am kicking myself for not grabbing it].

That was late March or early April. It's been getting weird since then. Nobody is hotter, and I haven't looked into it much but there is a Jamie Foxx biopic on Mike coming out soon - so that could also be fueling it.
