Default NBA Stars that are Undervalued in this Crazy Market!

Ok, everyone has their opinion on this one, so let’s hear it! Seems like every other day the market goes all in on a guy while others get lost in the shuffle. Who do you think deserves more attention?

Two guys I keep coming back to are Anthony Davis and Damian Lillard. I think a lot of their cards are absolute steals right now aside from AD’s Prizm PSA 10. I mean we are talking about legit superstars with these guys whose RCs for the most part are extremely affordable even in high grades.

I’ve been grabbing some AD rookie autos for bargains and grabbed a 2012-13 Damian Lillard Crusade Red /99 BGS 10 Pristine today for just $270.

There’s more stars out there that need some love for sure. Let’s hear some opinions. They can be statistically backed or totally unfounded like most political claims. No judgment here!

Theres only a handful of superstars in the hobby. AD is not one yet and Lillard will always be a star, just a star.

Takes a combination of rings and awards to be considered a superstar.

Any player that is good has value already (not necessarily high value, but value nonetheless).

Anyone that is low value, is low for a reason or two (and that will keep prices low).

That’s fair, I think with a restart AD has real growth potential. I know the hobby doesn’t love PGs but to me Lillard is on another planet. Probably would need a trade to a larger market to boost his stock but the talent is there.

That’s quite an oversimplification. The modern market tends to act like a herd now. The market often waits for the herd to make up their mind on a player, a few high eBay sales happen, and all of a sudden it’s like everyone agrees. This is pretty much the modern market. It’s very fluid rather than concrete.

Movements these days are more set driven than player driven. Should get some player movement once they're on the court again. I have to say, we're running out of lower end products that can move upward.

Well your example of Lillard is my point #2. It's low because he plays in Portland and no one cares. Will he ever win a championship, probably not...so, no one cares even more!

Chronicles is $600 pre-order for hobby

Valid about his current team, but will he be in Portland forever? Kinda like when AD made the move to LA he’s now on the hobby radar. Things can change in a hurry.

Right, but buying Lillard now is just wasting money (even though he's so low).

Hey you may just be right, I’m just willing to bet that his talents aren’t going to be wasted in Portland forever. We shall see.

Also, he's a guard...not exactly a hobby-favorite (other than a very select few).

wish lillard is a few inches taller. super duper great player witha mamba mentality and seems to be very loyal to his franchise, a rarity in today’s generation of nba players.

Those 2 you mentioned are low because you can't speculate on who/what they are at this point.

Could you find undervalued cards of each that could appreciate? Sure. Like Khal said, that's more set related than it is player related (though likely a mixture of both).

The guys getting these bumps are all relatively young guys and the prices are driven by future expectations. 99% of players drafted before 2015 have already retired in terms of their hobby careers.

Here are some players that I think are undervalued atm:

Kemba Walker- a super talented team player who had been on a horrible team for 8 years and didn't get the same recognition he deserved.

Giannis- legit the ideal ballplayer without a jump shot. Still very young and has only been getting better.

Kyrie- lot of negativity surrounding his name but when he and KD are healthy on that Nets team in the Eastern Conference, who knows what they are capable of?

90s bois Kards:

Hakeem- just gifted all around and doesn't get the recognition he deserves. Top 5 PF of all time. Fundamental monster and pure skill.

Magic- the best point guard of all time who has autos that sell for $30... How?

Were't Jordan and Kobe Guards? It's not like I am cherry-picking...

None. Even if you think they are undervalued today, they are most likely overvalued. Everything is overvalued at this point and when there is a market correction and the sneaker bois and pumpers and dumpers have left the building, it will all come down.

How bout Curry? Anyone think he is undervalued based off his accomplishments? Or do you think he is right where he should be.

There's not a single 2019 product that I would consider ripping at secondary prices. A few 2017 and 2018 products left that I think are decent value currently and have good to great future upside.

AD and KD are undervalued but people don't like their cupcake moves.

Both will only go up though as the accolades and success grows.

Once AD is not paired with LBJ, does he still hold value? Very doubtful, he will go back to what he was pre-lebron. That's what makes Lebron great, he just makes everyone around him look so much better.
