Did regular Stadium Club baseball really get pushed back from June to September 2? Or is that just a placeholder date on Blowout?

I noticed this too. Was getting excited for the release but now looks like it might be a while.

A few products got pushed back to September, casualties of "something's gotta go" because of the month of new releases we missed.
Allen & Ginter was also pushed back to September, and Museum Collection was pushed to July. I noticed it was mostly releases with on card autos that got pushed back. Which makes sense. |

This is 2020.
If the product gets delayed, people speculate its because big things are going to be added and the price goes up. If the product gets moved forward, people speculate its going to catch people off guard and will be a 'sleeper' hit and the price goes up. If its sold online, bots buy it and the price goes up. If its in retail stores only, people claim "you can only get this at Target!" and the price goes up. If it has a horrible checklist, assumptions are made that "additional value" will be included and the price goes up. If it has a great checklist, people assume its going to hits of only top players and the price goes up. If a pandemic hits the world, stocks fall, unemployment rises and we hit a recession, the price still goes up. I see a trend. |

would it be because there is going to be a limited amount of time between the hypothetical games and the due date for their printing process? i would assume they would have to get creative if the season is continually delayed/potentially cancelled altogether. i'm sure they have an abundance of awesome pictures and could piece together a set in some form if there isn't a season.

I'd assume that is definitely the reason - they likely don't have enough in-game photos for the set.

They should 100% release a subset that’s just like 20 current stars and rookies as a front/back reprint of the 2016 design, reposed against Robin Yount’s Honda 500 dirt bike with that cactus behind it. Tell me you wouldn’t buy a Shohei Ohtani card where he’s wearing rash-guard pants, leaning against a dirt bike in the desert sort of squinting pensively to the right with a giant cactus behind him... Maybe get them all to grow mustaches for the serial numbered short prints. Am I the only one who wants this? |
