I'm thinking my Vandy guy Austin Martin might skip a spot or 3 due to $


I don't want my White Sox to take a C

I hope Chicago or AZ takes the Mt Carmel HS shortstop Howard (dbacks took Chicago kid Alek Thomas last year, same HS)

Max Meyer seems to be moving up boards since last Fall

Really hoping White Sox take Howard and he at least makes it to the bigs as an everyday player. Would be an awesome story.

And praying he doesn't go to the Cubs!

One of my childhood friends has a son expected to go first round tonight. I pulled a 1/1 auto patch from Stars and Stripes set a couple of months ago and sent it to him and his family. Got a nice text this morning that said while lots of people are asking for his son's autograph it was nice that something came in the mail that was for him. Can't wait to see what happens tonight!

Players I hope (& realistically could) fall to the Brewers:

Pete Crow-Armstrong

Now, they won't take one of them, because that what WE want, and we rarely get what WE want, but those are my two guys I have hopes on.

Heston Kjerstad will be a nice pick if he goes in the top 10 that will allow a team with a comp pick to have extra money. Even if he goes #7... which is the most common prediction for those that have him in the top 10.

Not really even a hot take anymore, but I think Max Meyer goes ahead of Hancock and in the top 6.

While I think Austin Martin has the better overall potential, Torkelsons offensive potential is too good to pass up.

He has the kind of bat that is sorely lacking in the Tigers farm system right now. That’s why Torkelson is my preferred pick for the Tigers tonight.

Torkelson is a lock to go 1. Have no idea why they haven't just announced a deal already. Great bat, similar to Joey Votto and if his glove fails him, in Detroit he could always DH once Miggy retires.

Austin Martin is very interesting. He SHOULD go no. 2 overall based on talent, but I don't think the Orioles want to pay full slot at 2. Some believe the Birds will sign someone like Nick Gonzales for under slot (5.8 instead of 7.8), then use the savings on their next draft pick to get a higher quality player. Similar to Gunnar Henderson.

Angels also furloughed their scouts last month. Seem to be hurting for $$$.

I follow him for a while and I think as he grows older he will struggle with this, he may be not be but I think he is and coming out in MLB is still a no no

They would still need to offer 40%+ of slot to receive compensation for an unsigned pick. 40% of the #10 pick's slot is $1.9M. How many players would pass on that and risk it by going to school? Draft picks are also separately compensated for tuition to complete a bachelor's degree.
