Default Josh Allen Prices

Was browsing through the eBay listings and just realized that Allen is neck 'n neck with Mayfield for the #2 spot price-wise behind Lamar in the 2018 RC class, and for many recent sales he's even surpassing Mayfield on equivalent GEM and/or Mint cards! With all the COVID-19 craziness going on, guess I haven't been paying enough attention to the Buffalo Bills hype train.

Looks like I'm gonna have dig some #17's outta my 2018 RC pile and submit a few for grading...

Bills are supposed to do big things this year.
Guess people are still worried about Darnold seeing ghosts...

I can not tell a lie. I bought 3 Josh Allen cards a month or two ago when I realized they have a chance to do well next year - Silver Field Level, Silver Premier Level and Color Burst. Think I spent about $100 for all 3. Hoping Patty and Watson have huge starts but never hurts to hedge a little.

Yep, it's always good to diversify

Last year I bought in too heavily on the Baker/Browns hype train, although I still think he has big potential in Stefanski's play action offense, especially if Baker improves his footwork and gets rid of the damn ball faster.

Luckily I never got caught up in the Baker hype. Although I do have a nice little stack of Rosen I'm about to start on fire.

I agree that the bills are primed to take the division and do some damage in the playoffs. However, I just see Allen as nothing more than a “game manager”, with limited upside to rack up meaningful passing stats. All that being said, the Bills fan base is certainly passionate and will likely support him (Therefore providing a nice floor…)

I think the Bills (and Allen, of course) have a lot of upside this year. Patriots mystique is gone, Jets and Dolphins don't seem like a threat. Early schedule is nice and they could have a real nice showdown with the Chiefs in week 6.

I've been picking up what I can on Allen over the last 4-5 months. Prices have definitely gone up a lot. Aside from the Prizm base, these are what have found their way to me.

Think the Prizm R/W/B is my favorite due to matching the team colors.

Nice. I usually like the RWB but the barber pole that year didn't do much for me. I was surprised how cheap a lot of his autos still are. I don't think they've caught up to his Prizms/Optics yet. When I looked last night on COMC there were still quite a few between $70 and $100. I had to turn off the computer because I knew if I bought just one, that would turn into 10 or 50 and my Rosen pile would have another one next to it. I do think he's set up to have a nice run this year though.

While I think the Bills are the favorites, Allen still has a lot of work to do to improve and be more than just a guy at QB.

Although heck, he's a teal compared to say Drew Lock who only has a handful of games.

Even though I am on the Mahomes train since last year, I am from Buffalo and a huge bills fan. Had season tickets until I moved to NYC.

The biggest thing Allen has going for him in the card market, is they have 4 primetime games this year after basically having one or none for the past decade. Exposure is key. He’s not turning into mahomes anytime soon that’s for sure, but adding a pro bowl caliber wide receiver like Diggs doesn’t hurt.

Make it a most likely five primetime games. They have four, and then there is a Saturday in December where they have a three out of five game shot to be flexed to Saturday. If you look at the other four games, they are most likely going to be flexed.

That Sunday night game in Pittsburgh last year did big things for the bills.

Ha! I think we settled on a fair price (if it was real gold).

The Prime Time exposure will help for sure, and as a Vikes fan I can definitely say that Diggs could be huge for him as well (although I really like Jefferson & the extra draft pick in that deal for MN).

Allen has prototype size, arm strength and athleticism for the QB position and I happen to think a lot of the pre-draft comparisons between him & Wentz were well warranted. Now's its just a matter of him putting it all together on a weekly basis against playoff caliber competition, though much easier said than done...

Bills have good roster and their salary cap for 2021 and beyond is set up for a nice window. I think he's going to take the next step with the addition of Diggs and Moss and OL having a year of continuity. His playing style should garnish plenty of hobby love

Of all the new QB's not named Mahomes and drafted in the past 3 years, I truly think that Josh Allen has the most potential out of all of them. I really like this kid. Not enough to go overboard on his cards but I really think he is a solid QB and is well positioned to do great things for Buffalo.

I picked up 4 Optic base and a prizm base for I believe a combined $110 over the past few months. Those will be sent in with my first PSA submission soon. I also picked up a Prizm PSA 9 a few months ago at $50 and I believe they're up to almost $150 now. I'm a bills fan so it's more of a collecting thing for me than investing, but if they play well this year and prices go insane I may end up moving them. He's so volatile though that he could have a 3 week stretch where he plays terribly and the prices come crashing down. He also has the ability to do the opposite though, I'm very excited!

Be careful what you wish for, look at his numbers and Trubisky's, they are very similar.

Got this in a couple days ago. Sold a Luka Doncic Holo insert to get it. Hope I don't regret this in a couple weeks!

That’s a bold strategy, Cotton.

It's going to be an interesting year for the Bills, most sports radio stations around here say it's division or bust...

But I've also seen them picked to go 7-9...

Guess it all depends on how well he gels with Diggs and if he's gotten better with the long ball, he's got the strength, but accuracy/distance is ehhhhh...

7-9 might win the division.

Barring a epic meltdown along the O line Allen will improve again with the addition of Diggs. Almost as important as adding Diggs will be having two viable backs Gore was done last year, lot of dead plays feeding that dinosaur the football. Defense is stout and could be even better. Jets are a hot dumpster fire under Gase. Dolphins look to be building something solid for down the road. Patriots lost a awful lot of talent off that defense. Covid 19 puts a lot on continuity and the Bills had very little turnover/change. Anything less that 10 wins should be a huge disappointment
