We expect all transactions to be completed via paypal goods. Let’s clarify

I am new here I understand the ff thing now I do come from fb and am not used to that g/s. I sold the item to mike and offered to give him the code. My money is on hold let’s make that clear. I offered to release the code and in theory at that point he could walk away and request a refund and then he has the code and his money back. I could get screwed more so than him. I took a step of faith he seemed reasonable in the beginning and offered this solution. He emphatically denied the offer so then I offered to ship the card if he would cover the postage. I said I would go through with the deal and eat the fees since that was misunderstood on my part. He has refused to cover $1 worth of shipping and has not attempted to work with me and has simply demanded his money back. I tried to work with him here and said I’d eat the fees I’m giving to meet him more than half way and I asked him to meet me as well and throw to cover the shipping since he has insisted he get the card physically. I also told him I have people to vouch for me to boost my credibility and he completely ignored this. I’m disappointed people are so difficult to work with here. I was not expecting such a difficult crowd. This is not at all how my other groups are like they are cordial and friendly and people rarely get upset over stuff like this. Hopefully things will resolve themselves and this can be an enjoyable place for me to share the love of the hobby.

Couple things,
1) It's not my fault you didn't read the rules so the additional fees aren't my problem
2) I understood you were new and didn't want to hold you to the $45 because you didn't understand the rules so I said you can refund the payment if that doesn't work for you
3) If I clear the payment I should've just paid FF in the first place since I lose the buyers protection. If you wanted the payment quicker I offered that you can ship it. I'm not paying additional shipping though because like you said, I paid for a code not a card.

You need to learn and play by the rules. Or leave. That's how you get along. Offering what you think is right gets you nowhere.

The dude wanted the card for $45 delivered G/S. He's totally cool if that doesn't work for you. Refund him. Then fall on your sword and move on and you will sell a bunch here. By doubling down and ranting will ensure you get the boot.

Stop doing this to yourself. I said you could send me the code but I would not clear the payment so you could get the funds sooner. I'm sorry you don't want to wait the 21 days paypal takes to make sure nothing is refunded but thats what goods and services are. The shipping was an alternatative option if you needed the money quicker than 21 days because once it was received the money would go into your account.

I didn't care which option you chose but at the end of the day I'm only paying $45 for the gift card

Just refund him at this point. He will get one regardless of what you do at this point. So why delay it.

You are responsible for knowing the rules before you sell, you should also agree to the FULL price including shipping BEFORE providing payment information.

He doesn't even need to ship I've said this multiple times. But I will not clear the payment because I don't want to lose the buyers protection. He will just have to wait the 21 days for paypal to release his funds

I told him I would send the payment FF via PM last night if he gave me the code first and let me make sure it worked. I figured my time here and feedback would speak for itself, but he said no.

Seemed shady, so I stopped communication.
