1. I mostly collect (with my brother) vintage baseball with a few exceptions, this being a big one
2. I bought this card at a pretty good time where a sizable "profit" could be made which makes it tempting to sell from that vantage point 3. I don't really NEED $ so this is not a COVID-19 (potential) panic sale 4. This is not a fishing expedition, I'm not trying to lure any buyers (just so you know) 5. If I sell this card, there is no guarantee that I could ever get it back for less and that hurts b/c I really do LOVE the Jordan rookie this one would put a hole in my collecting heart and the possibility of filling that would suck---plus I don't like the idea of paying MORE later for a card I had in hand. All that said, what would you do? Obviously I'm aware that the the upcoming Last Dance movie and this is really the only reason I'm actually considering it....

Nice Card. Sounds like you like it. But selling now isn't a bad time and you could put those profits back into Vintage Baseball, which you mentioned you collect. OR Sell this, buy a PSA/BGS 3-5, so you still have one and buy something else with the leftover cash!
**If you do sell and I still have some Paypal, I'd be interested in hearing a price. Either way GL with your decision, It is a nice card. |

So let me be clear, were I to sell this NOW (and potentially replace it) I would want a PSA/SGC equivalent 7 so basically I would want to repurchase exactly what I have....and on this card I am not interesting in a 3 or 5 with fantastic eye appeal....

Looks like this has realized a good $1k plus bump in the last week (?). Hard to tell with such a tiny sample size.
If it is the pride and joy of your collection I say no. Now appears to be the time though. If you want to rebuy later, heck no. Quite a bit of cost to sell and rebuy. Labor and stress too. Not a good plan. Last edited by Willikn; 04-12-2020 at 05:51 PM. |

Also, were I too let this go at a HIGH MARK price in April, I still would have an issue re-buying it at a reasonable LOW MARK (let's say a year from now)--especially considering my original purchase price.....and that ASSUMES such a LOW MARK would ever return or become available

Keep it. You seem very attached to it even though you are a baseball guy.
Only sell it if you don't mind waiting a while (if ever) to buy a PSA 7 again for your original price. |

I'm attached to the card but not this particular psa copy although I think it's a decent psa 7...... If I knew that I could sell it for "x" and a year from now could just rebuy something similar for $500 less than I would consider but there is just no way for me to determine that....What if it costs $500 more?

I have a PSA 8.5 myself and have thoughts of selling, but holding strong! Good luck in what you decide to do! |

Don't sell. You'll regret it as soon as you mail out the package and will regret it even more as time goes by. It's an iconic card that you can have for a lifetime and be proud to say that you have it. I sold a PSA 8 years ago for like $800 and I will always regret it. I actually purchased it raw for $300 and sent it out for grading and was happy to make a decent profit on it at that time. Boy what a mistake. Dont be me

This is a very confusing thread.
You either want to sell the card or you don’t. Then you want to buy it back one day, wtf are you talking about? lol Last edited by fdjizm; 04-12-2020 at 06:12 PM. |

![]() What I said was that I would consider selling if the $ was right and I could reasonably expect the price to drop back to some kind of sensible level. And even then, such a price would be difficult for me (personally) to pull the trigger considering I bought it when the baseline price was sub 1K. Got it? I'd sell and buy a lower-graded card. I bought a really nice PSA 2 earlier this year, and am thrilled with it. I'm not OCD with grades like many are, so I was just happy to have it.
Long-term, I don't really see these cards ever dropping...since Jordan is the GOAT. Also, you have many guys in their 30s that grew up idolizing Jordan that are now making good money. Given they likely have more expendable income than in the past, people like this will continue to enter the market in droves and drive the prices higher long-term. |

I'm a baseball guy too but I'd only sell mine if it meant I was upgrading....

In the short to intermediate term, it is hard to see this card going down in value with the documentary and the influx of big spenders/market makers/buyers groups with deep pockets using sportscards as an alternative investment.
How long are you willing to wait to see if the prices drop? |

I'd almost urge you to keep it...then I realized how many 1989 Hoops gems you could buy with the proceeds. Might be a decent arbitrage opportunity.

If you’ve put all this thought into it, keep it.
