Talking (hold the phone) Checklist Showoff

There has to be some freaks out here collecting checklists.

Post some tremendous checklists friends...

I'm not sure about today's offerings but the 90's certainly pumped out some good ones.

I actually used to "collect" them. Haha, from the early to mid-90s too!

Too bad I don't have them anymore.

One of the rarest checklists around. International UD checklists are typically "basic" cards, but for an Int'l Promo set...just as rare as the cards themselves.

Here's a dubious $27 ebay purchase.

Actually have considered buying up bunches of 90 sbx team checklists and sending them off to current players for TTM autos. Could be fun.

Trash that thing. Those fake autos are made for the sole purpose of ripping people off.

What if I told you I have over 130,000 checklists in my collection?

Great post

For me, it's a Glenn Robinson card, with Pervis Ellison in pictures.

I realize these are cool/oddball items to pick up as singles and collect; however, I can't help but feel like Topps/Fleer didn't at least consider the hilarity of someone opening a pack and hitting a rare parallel, only to have it be a checklist.

As a kid/pre-teen collecting in this era, I can't imagine the rollercoaster of feelings hitting something like a 'mythical' platinum medallion, only for it to be the checklist, lol. This is trolling at its finest.

I get your point.

But to be honest, a checklist was already a bigger 'hit' than no name players.

even though hitting a rare parallel of a checklist was a big letdown, companies probably released these for one of three reasons, (or maybe all three)

1. The cards needed to be there to make the odds what they were

2. Afraid of the backlash they would receive from set collector's that needed it for completion of the set

3. the presses were already set up for it, might as well do it

Sick!

I wonder what an Upper Deck 10th Anniversary Checklist would look like with 2500 cards in the set. 10 Checklist in a set?

Man I thought this was going to be an old school phone card checklist. I remember back in the early 90s phone card inserts were all the rage.
