Exclamation ALERT: Michael Jordan UD3 Season Ticket Autograph Forgery at PWCC

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up that this Michael Jordan UD3 Season Ticket autograph is likely a forgery:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/1997-UD3-Se...bb10%7Ciid%3A1

For those unfamiliar with this set, Jordan signed the cards with an ultra-fine tip pen that was prone to fading. The cards are also signed on foil, making it relatively easy to wipe away the autograph and replace it with a new one. Here are some real ones. This is what it should look like:

And here are the questionable ones I've seen surface, including the one currently being auctioned by PWCC:

There are also some blank copies of the UD3 autograph floating around. Rather than wiping down the autograph, there's a chance the one currently being auctioned was a blank that had a signature added later:

Not sure I'll describe this well. But it looks like somebody tried to copy his "sticker auto" which is much flatter and looks like it was signed so that everything fits in a small space and stays pretty level horizontally. But his non-sticker autos tend to drift upwards as he gets further into the auto. I think this was especially true in the 90s...before he ever had to do the sticker auto.

First seller of that slab says it was previously PSA/DNA only. So assuming the auto is real but aftermarket, PSA had it right initially and then messed it up upon review.

That would actually explain why the Jordan autographs on the first two questionable cards are so perfect. I just figured they were from a master forger. I would never have had any doubts about them at all were it not for the fact that the real cards were signed with a different pen.

Based on the autos, I could buy that Jordan did sign the first two questionable ones, but they certainly weren't pack inserted and should not be graded.

Card looks like it was signed yesterday.

I’m all for having faded autos wiped and resigned if they are slabbed as such. Of course, that’s an impossible ask these days.

Welcome back from your 4 year posting hiatus. Looks like you are really interested in PWCC Jordan auctions that may/may not be forged!

It's crazy, I saw the auction last night and was like Whoa!

To me it looks like the autograph was added AFTERWARDS (maybe at Michael Jordan's last flight school camp)?

The ink's not even dry on some of those. lol

But let's not jump to conclusions. Maybe the dude who got these signed flagged down Michael Jordan outside a local Denny's.

I don't know if there's a more bastardized jordan auto insert than the UD3 Ticket.

I bought a wiped/forged copy myself about 5 years ago separated from a lot.

Has anyone talked to PWCC about this? Considering the recent lawsuit filed against them, PSA and Probstein, I would have thought that they would be very reactive to concerns about a potential 30K + card...

Feel free, but you're going to have to explain it like you're talking to a 5 y/o because they're not going to understand.

I'm such an idiot. I knew this card seemed familiar. I made a post about it a while back when a fake Jordan Ionix auto wipedown job surfaced. It was being sold by greenzone13 on ebay. Someone else was able to link him to this UD3 auto forever ago and I completely forgot about it.

I'm quoting the original post. Again, this was originally about the Ionix auto because that was being auctioned at the time. But it includes proof that the greenzone13 has been making a habit of selling high end Jordans with aftermarket autos.

I believe this card from this auction (https://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-1998-9...f-U:rk:12:pf:0) has a fake autograph:

I love this set, but the Jordan autograph is ALWAYS light blue, fine and streaky. Not sure what happened during the signing, but here's an example of what they normally look like (this is actually a nice example; most are much worse):

I personally believe the seller wiped the card down and faked the autograph. Now maybe you're thinking -- perhaps this seller just found a really amazing example of this card with a perfect autograph, signed in a darker pen. But some other people discovered the same seller likely sold another suspected Jordan wipe-down job autograph fake. Only it was under a different username, ostensibly to cover his tracks: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1997-UD3-Se...p2047675.l2557

Here's a picture of the card from the above auction:

Notice the blue hue behind the autograph? That's what happens to this card when you try and wipe down the auto. Here's another example of one that had the autograph wiped down, leaving the same blue hue:

And here's what it SHOULD look like:

If you're wondering why people suspect it's the same seller, here's the description for both fake Jordan autographs. They appear to be written by the same person. Also note that both sellers list their address within 40 miles of one another:
