Default Sandy Koufax Basic Set

Working on a Koufax basic run to start 2020 (started in November).

Update: As I continue through the basic set also decided to focus on any Topps main set cards such as leaders, etc. I believe there are 30 total cards (with the 63 Fleer). For now here is what I have for the basic set

1955 Koufax PSA 2.5
1956 Koufax PSA 7
1957 Koufax PSA 3
1958 Koufax PSA 6.5
1959 Koufax PSA 6
1960 Koufax PSA 6.5
1961 Koufax PSA 5
1962 Koufax PSA 6
1963 Koufax PSA 6 (Topps)
1964 Koufax PSA 5
1965 Koufax PSA 5
1966 Koufax PSA 7

Been a while so picked up the 1960 and 1966 today.

I've been back and forth a lot the past few years, just wanted to focus on a player and PSA run from the 50's and 60s and decided on Koufax. I do have a run and quite a few Murphys still but there all raw. I have a nice 77 in NRMT condition well centered.

I used to want all high end but no longer with all the stuff going on. Just looking to complete a low end run and have fun!!

Koufax is a nice run to do. Only 13 cards in his basic set. Along with Stan Musial , the two easiest runs to do for tier 1 Hofers.

Love it! Low grade centered cards are awesome in my book! I bet it took some time to find the right copies but those look great.

It does, especially targeting PSA 2-4 range. I feel like even though they don't cost a ton, it may take me a while. Some may not be perfect, but I like the idea of low grade for the price.

It is better than buying trimmed Gretzky or Montana cards for too much.

Agree, not sure why anyone would trim a $50ish card so I’m happy.

Plus, I’m just as excited about finding examples to my own eye appeal.

Added a 1963 Topps Koufax PSA 6

Not sure how well this will show, but here’s what they all look like in the PSA album
