Helton deserves to be in the HOF. I don't care what anyone says!

I'm glad to see Rolen's support increasing every year.

Random thoughts:

- Walker has been trending up, and I think he will get in.
- The debate on Bonds and/or Clemens will continue.
- Helton seems to suffer from a bias against Colorado hitters, but put up good (albeit lower) numbers on the road also.
- I would guess Pettite and Sheffield will trend upward.
- IMO, Andruw Jones does not belong in HOF. Fun player, but .254 BA hurts.

Agree on Walker. I think Bonds and Clemens might both actually get in this year. Helton might be a LONG wait. Andruw won't make it.

Also interesting to see Schilling doing well early. I think he might get in, if he can shut his mouth until the voting is done. Otherwise, who knows?

Kind of surprised to see the up-trend for ManRam. TWICE busted for PEDs. I wonder if he'll come back down once more votes are known?

These numbers suggest a one man class. The public ballots normally over state players numbers by ~10% at the top. Last year Bonds, Clemens and Walker's actual totals were 11%+ less than the public ballot totals, Schilling was 9% less. People that don't make their ballots public often vote for fewer players, even blank ballots or ballots with just Jeter.

I didn't know this. That obviously doesn't bode well for most of these guys then, like you said. I guess we shall see...

Don't be fooled by the percentages of whats been revealed on those two. Early revealers in recent years are supporters of Bonds/Clemens which gives false hope. What you're really looking for to see if they have a chance is if they've picked up any votes from either new voters or voters who didn't vote for them last time. So far there have been no reveals from new voters. And among returning voters, neither Bonds or Clemens has gained a vote. So it doesn't look like their totals when all is said and done are going to move much - at least based on what has been revealed so far. They ended at ~59% last time. They have to gain votes to change that.

Here's the numbers that will end up mattering. + or - vs. last years votes.

Kent +9
Rolen +8
Helton +7
Wagner +6
Sheffield +6
Walker +5
Manny +5
Andruw +4
Sosa +3
Schilling +3
Pettitte +2
Vizquel +/- 0
Bonds +/- 0
Clemens -1

Bonds and Clemens trending down. Kind of rooting for Schilling and Walker to make it. More so Schilling. Big Sox fan here.

Bonds and Clemens deserve to be in.

To quote their website, the baseball HOF is a “nonprofit committed to preserving the history of America’s pastime and celebrating the legendary players”

Steroids are a part of baseballs history whether they like it or not. Bonds and Clemens are some of the greatest players ever

Didn't some guy on Twitter post his ballot and didn't vote for Jeter?

The Expos franchise (Nats) win its first WS. Now it's time to induct the HOF to induct its first Canadian position player.

They are in the Hall of Fame. When I visited there was a steroid exhibit. There is also an exhibit on Bonds HR record just like one for Pete Rose's hit record. They just won't ever have a plaque in the plaque room because they doped, cheated, to get their numbers. Just like Shoeless Joe Jackson is still waiting 83 years later despite being a better player than most of his contemporaries that have been inducted.

This. Though I suspect Walker will get another huge bump and could make it. Schilling may get really close. But that’s all that has a chance to join Jeter, Simmons, and Miller this year.

It was a prank ballot to stir up angry people on Twitter. He posted his real one an hour later

Shoeless Joe isn’t a steroid related thing though. He was allegedly (this has massive debates over whether he did or didn’t) part of the scandal that threw the WS. Shoeless Joe didn’t cheat to get better numbers. Different conversation than steroids

If Shoeless Joe tanked to try to lose the 1919 World Series then he failed miserably.

I’m sorry if it offends anyone but if Jeter is an unanimous pick it’s an insult to Maddux, Griffey and the list goes on and on.

I hope Jeter doesn't just so I can see a 50 page thread about it if it happens.

How long does A-Rod wait when he’s eligible, and does he ever actually get in the Hall?
