Question eBay advice (selling).

I had an auction for a Lamar Prizm RC, someone bought it but he has a ton of positive feedback (wtf?) that says stuff like "this buyer does not pay or respond, avoid him." Unfortunately, this seems to be true since the auction finished last night and I still have not received payment nor has he responded. What should I do? Do I wait two days and then file an unpaid item to eBay? Do I avoid cancelling the item myself? I've only sold 2 items on eBay before, so this is all new to me.

On a side note, based off this guy's feedback, why has eBay not done anything to his account?

Give them 2 days then open the Unpaid Item. After 4 days you can close it and they'll get a strike. All the false positive feedbacks don't help

Yes. It's sellers leaving false positives to let other sellers know.

That's funny (or not). Same guy (I suspect) won one of my auctions for the same card.

Welcome to the, "You've been had by a shill bidder" club.

We can't leave negative feedback for buyers. So, if you want to label them with something, you have to leave positive but say negative things.

If it is the same shill, Julo5066, then you won't be getting paid. Whatever you choose to do will be fine.

If they dont want us to leave negative feedback for buyers why not have an automatic system?

Buyer pays within 1-3 days, they get a positive. 4-6 days, neutral. Anything more or non payment they get a negative.

and if they report it, the FB gets removed and you can get suspended / banned.

Probably the same guy. Just multiple shill bidding IDs.

Same strategy. Bid up everyone's Prizm Lamar RCs to then sell his own.

Yep, Ebay won't let sellers leave negatives anymore! Ebay hates sellers!

Man this really sucks lol.

Trying to sell a card always seems like a major hassle.

Time waited.

7 days for the auction to end.
2 days waiting for the payment.
4 days for the unpaid item report (to cancel it).

etc.

I'll just keep the card.

Use BIN..add BO...and let it sit until the right card buyer comes around. Block bidders with -2 non payments and set the unpaid item assistant to 2 or 4 days...I do 4 because really if im selling it BIN im not really in a hurry to get paid. Let the UID open automatically and NEVER email the buyer about payment. eBay sends way too many emails as it is as a reminder. Also set up IPR (immediate payment required) for non-offer listings. Doesnt work anyways if they send an offer & you accept

Thats how to sell...casually... without drama

This 100%. I only do auctions on lower value cards these days if I just want them gone.

I prefer pure auctions too man, but the garbage trolling Ebay auctions anymore has made the process too painful. In the last year roughly 20% of my auctions are either won by shill bidders or complete trash. My favorite is the guy who wouldn't pay but listed the item, with my photo, for sale at a severely inflated price. Was willing to pay but only after he'd resold the item for a profit. Who thinks like this?

Prizm Mahomes RC in an SGC 10 slab. Selling that thing was a nightmare no small thanks to the tool that won the initial auction.
