Default Worst player with a big collecting community

I'm somewhat new to basketball collecting outside of this decade, and I'm just curious about who the worst NBA player with a big following of collectors is.

Hoping this will be a fun discussion. Feel free to dump on whatever player you feel like.

Michael Jordan.... guy hasn't won anything in 20 years and his most recent season with Washington wasn't that hot.

But really... Jason Williams comes to mind. Not dumping on him, cuz he was cool, but he has a pretty big following for a zero time all star.

Ok, so you're saying they either finished their career or are still playing and can no longer be considered a "prospect" but they never made an all-star team (or maybe one or two at the most)?

My answer: Antoine Walker

Can we flip it around a bit to.. "The worst collectors who collect the biggest player?"

And of course it would be... LeBron. Has some of the worst (and best, don't get me wrong) collectors out there. If you can even call some of them that. A better description would probably be hypers, price manipulators, trimmers. There's so much shadiness going on with LeBron cards atm that I can't even begin to touch the surface on all that.. lol

Iverson, Penny, and Hill are terrible answers. They each accomplished big things, although they won no titles.

Haha....

White Choco is fantastic...but as a player he's no Rod Strickland, and Rod Strickland gets no love aside from that time Wu-Tang dropped his name in a verse.

Can Jason Williams still be called "white chocolate" these days?

This is a fun topic.

My first thought was Jason williams. Not because he wasn’t good but because his following FAR surpasses his accomplishments. Sorry luckyshow.

Penny Hardaway’s popularity also is not in line with his on court accomplishments. He was an icon, so I get it.

Pete Maravich sales are in line with Wilt and jabbar in retro stuff. That makes no sense.

But the best answer I can come up with is Mahmoud Abdul Rauf. Every once in a while a very rare Rauf hits the market and it seems to always sell for a number that just seems silly.

Current player? Jimmer. lol.

Last one..... forgive me...... rodman. Dude was never even the second best player on his team and sells for more than all time greats like Shaq, Barkley, Stockton, Malone and Robinson. But like Penny, I get it. His value is more about how iconic he is than his on court performance.

Chris Webber comes to mind. Yes he was good (made one 1st team All NBA), but there is blood in the streets over some of his stuff.

Penny. Has a crazy following. Was great for 4 years then injuries. Was a real shame what happened but always thought his following outweighed his accomplishments.

Iverson sucks. If you don’t agree sue me.

But the other two I mentioned I just meant their collector following is greater than their careers should warrant.
