Yessss!!!!

Excited for this year.

What I'm looking for:

-Top notch team defense
-Some threat of a shot from range out of Simmons
-Embiid not handling the ball at the top of the key in clutch situations
-An answer to who takes the shot in the last 2 minutes of the game
-Which bench players step up to play well and contribute

Matisse thybulle. Only thing that may prevent him from leading the NBA in steals is not enough minutes. His instincts for the ball are incredible. Just need his 3 ball to fall. This defense is going to be suffocating... absolutely demoralizing to opponents.

I was really impressed with him. I just think they have way too much depth for him to get meaningful minutes unless he's great right away.

Hopefully he gets plenty of garbage time minutes. In the East there are only a handful of competitive teams. He’s a blast to watch.

His analytics in college were through the roof. I couldn't believe his numbers but when watching him play you can tell he's special defensively. A consistent 3 point shot and he will have a long career in the NBA. You can't teach his instincts on the defensive end.

Was ecstatic my Celtics took him, then mortified when they traded him to our rivals. Getting Carsen Edwards leveled this all out though lol.

Thybulle will be the first or second guy off the bench.

It's funny that I'm not 'looking fwd' to solving our 2 biggest problems last year because they've already been solved in a manner I don't have to worry about.

1) We have backup PGs for Simmons who can actually play, plus Josh R
2) We have backup Cs for Embiid whether Horford or O'Quinn rather than the corpses of Monroe and etc
3) We have a deeper bench with Thybulle and Zhaire on top of the above bench guys!

I just want to see how they all fit together but that won't be apparent necessarily in 1 game or even 10.

I hope Simmons starts the game with a 3, make or miss.

I have such high hopes for this season!! I mean after last years ending it’s super easy to look forward and forget. But at the exact same time, I think we definitely have a finals caliber team, especially in the East. We have the depth we haven’t had the last 2 years and I think that’s HUGE! Super excited! Let’s get that dub tonight !!

I am really hoping my man JCole comes through and produces with his improved/worked on defense...…..
After saying this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRSzuojkzq0) he had better come through and become one of the it factors for the team. I love the dudes game and constantly root for him even though no one knew who he was, BUT he had better shine this year! I mean #@#@#@#@ing solar eclipse this BI7CH!!

Only 1 Qtr in, so not panicking yet, but the part you worried about is happening....

0-7 from 3.

Tobias needs to step up to be that guy.

Way to finish the half....

love the aggressiveness by Simmons towards the end. Needs to keep that up and take more than 6 shots in the second half.

A lot to like with Thybulle. Unfortunately zhaire seems to be the odd man out

Man... I savored that @$$whoopin.

Didn't even need Joel in the 4th.

Like the aggressiveness in the 2nd half outta Simmons. 16 shots a game is where he should be.

Agree, Zhaire can be odd man out until he's game ready should play some G-League.

Love Simmons tonight, best player, 24-9-8.

Great win by the Sixers. I agree that Simmons aggressiveness is awesome. They will be one of if not the best defensive team in the NBA. Look forward to a long season.
Go Sixers!

Also a fan of how aggressive Simmons was. He seems very confident around the rim. Much better touch on some of those tougher close range shots. He’s too talented to not be this aggressive on a nightly basis.

16 shots a night is where he needs to be at.

He's been at 12 a game for his first two years, time to step it up. Another 4 shots will put him over 20 ppg, which is solid for a guy who will also be top 5 in the league is assists, top 20 in rebounds and play legit D.

He also nicely increased his trips to the FT line last year, if he does that again 6.5 att per game would be in the NBA's top 13, he ranked 29th last year. It'd be Lillard/Luka territory for drawing fouls. Butler was 5.7 last year.

even at 60% that's a free 4 points per game plus all the extra fouls drawn on their D.
