Both have 3 more tries on the regular ballot. 2020 will have Jeter and maybe Walker in his last try. 2021 has no likely 1st timers getting in, so that will be the time for Bonds, Clemens and maybe even Schilling to make their push. 2022 could also be possible with Big Papi the only possible 1st timer hitting the ballot.

I think they are better than the average that get in but....I think some work a lot harder than others to be in hof. Not sure if they did but they did impact the game and make a lot of fans of the game.

Yes. Both were no brainer HOFers before they juiced. Bonds may have gone down as the all-time greatest hitter even without steroids.

By that logic, Palmero should be in as well. Ortiz tested positive to see if they should implement testing and never tested positive again I think Ortiz was a false positive.

This is the key. Most juicers went from good to great but these two were both all-time greats before they did it.

I’m fine with Palmiero. Ortiz tested positive, period. That’s something Mark McGwire never did.
The selective logic is really what irritates me. Let any HOFer in front that period or none. Guys who did steroids are still going to be in the hall.

Based on stats alone, Ortiz isn't a HOFer. This despite with the help of PEDs.
