Default Cards you're GLAD you sold

I feel I see way too many 'regret' sale threads but never the other side of the coin. Curious to hear some of the items and prices others sold at the peak of the market.

Default Alex Rodriguez Autographs

I owned a ton of Alex Rodriguez autographs back in the day.

His Classic/Scoreboard autographs, his UDA autographed silk-screen bat and much, much more.

Sold everything in one auction.

A few winters ago I was loading up on Wilkerman Garcia for next to nothing. All of a sudden there was this hype around him for absolutely no reason. Nothing had changed as it was the off season. I ended up selling everything within 1-2 months of buying it for around 8-10 times the money. It was the fastest turn around I ever had. By the end of the season, they were all back down to next to nothing. Currently his stuff is dirt cheap. I bought a Gold Auto RCR 9.5/10 for $10 a few months ago... I have many other players I’m happy I sold, but this one was memorable..

My favorite was in football with Ryan Leaf. Picked up a large rookie lot late in 1999 that included a lot of rare Leaf stuff that was basically a throw in. He had a great preseason in 2000, and his stuff went through the roof for a few weeks. I dumped all of it then for close to $1000 before he reverted back to the norm.

Unloading 1985 McGuire Olympic cards when they were briefly selling for over $100 during his HR chase was very enjoyable.

As a Pirates fan I had stockpiled Bonds Rcs and sold them all in 2001. Also moved all my Mcgwires and Sosas in 1998. I got 200.00 each for most of my Mcgwires.

Pulled a Hunter Harvey red auto in 2013 and it had it graded 10/10. So so so glad I sold when I did.

base trout auto bgs 9.5. Bought it at about $1800, and sold it for just under $9K. I originally intended to hold onto it for a long time, but I decided to play it safe and take the sure profit.

Sold a 2007 BCDP Mike Moustakas Red refractor /5 BGS 10 for $1500 around late 2010 or early 2011, cant remember which one.

I remember seeing it for sale from the buyer within a year of buying it from me and I’m not sure he even got half of that.

Not sure what it would go for but a Orange BGS 9.5 goes for around $100 or less now.

A 1997 David Arias Fleer RC for $75 in 2004. Glad I had realized he was that 'Ortiz' guy sitting in my commons box.

Also remember moving a ton of Starlin Castro bc autos when people thought he was the next big thing.

Same with Matt Sczur (sp) and Olt stuff when he was traded to chicago.

Cubs stuff is pretty lucrative.
