Default Ebay item not arrived/refund inquiry

Hello all...I don’t sell much on eBay and I had a transaction on a couple of cards that sold for about $150 back in May. I did the first class usps shipping and mark the item as shipped but forgot to enter the tracking number.

Fast forward to a couple days back and the buyer opens up a request for a refund citing that the item never arrived. I provided the tracking number into the case and it showed the item was delivered to the address on file three days after it shipped. I know that mail can be misplaced or stolen but I’m always a little suspicious of these things...

Anyways, I called Ebay resolution center and they said Ebay sides in my favor because I entered the tracking information to prove it was delivered. When I log in to PayPal, it still says the funds from the transaction are on hold...I had no balance in PayPal so it says I have to add $145 and change? Will this resolve itself even though Ebay took my side? Just curious as again, I don’t have a ton of selling experience. Thank you for any help.

Is the case still open? You should win but as long as case is open your money will be held

Hi, it’s still listed as open. I would have assumed that Ebay closes it automatically after siding in my favor? Or does the buyer have to close it?

They have not ruled in your favor wnd if it goes on it could go against you since you did not do online. There was something added last year about tracking having to be entered before a case is opened. Not sure if they went forward with that or not.

I would call and say you want ebay resolution on it they should be able to escalate it and rule right away

What do you mean by “online”? I did it from my computer when I got the alert and called today and was told by the automated system that Ebay had ruled in my favor. I’ll look into that thing with the stipulation about information being entered before the case is opened though.

Then the case should not be open at all. Unless the buyer went to paypal and opened a second claim. If so then that is through paypal not Ebay

If you just called today it sometimes takes a couple hours for things to update. If you’re concerned call and talk to a live person.

I have a buyer complaining to me about someone stealing her mail like it's my fault. finally told her to contact ebay and maybe they will be nice and refund her out of their pocket.

OTOH, all the packages I've mailed this week still have not been scanned. that's making me uneasy.

Yes, it took a bit of time but it finally lists it as closed.

Thanks for the help all and it taught me the valuable lesson to always check twice to see if the tracking was entered!!
