I read somewhere that part of the reason it's hard to use the gap between the edge of a card and the bumper it's up against to inspect card size is because there are different PSA slabs models with different sized slots for cards to fit into.
I think I also read that the model number of the slab itself can be found in the bottom left corner of the slab. Are these both true? If so, is there a place to look up what model numbers correspond to what dimensions? I want to know if there's a significant difference between the dimensions of the standard model and the next step up or down? Is there a similar system in BGS? Is SGC's foam custom or standardized? Basically, there's going to be a lot of eyeballing going on now, at the National, and beyond. And though we'll likely miss corner repair, intentional edge-wear, filled-in pinholes, recoloring, chemical damage, and all the other alterations BODA has uncovered in graded slabs, at least we can screen for card size and maybe spot trimming on our own, without a previous scan of the card to compare it to.
