Default Victor Robles

I have never been a Nats fan in the slightest. However with Harper leaving and Soto looking like he may take over as the big name on the team made me look at them a little more than I normally would.

I have started to become impressed with Victor Robles and excited to watch him play this year. Nats could be something to watch!

Robles has plenty of cards in 2018 and I can’t really decide which one will be his go to. His Heritage is a horizontal card which is always a negative, but he does have the Heritage Action. He has his TCU cards, but those came out well after the Heritage.

What card do you guys think will be the best go to card for him if you had to chose. Also interested in hearing why you guys think that.

To clarify I am curious about the non auto RCs. I understand BC then ROA for the autos.

His 2016 Bowman chrome auto will be king I’m sure but the heritage action or even the sapphire are good ones to pick up I think

Yes, I agree Bowman Chrome, Heritage ROA are the top ones. I should have specified I meant the non auto cards.

I forgot about Saphire. Should probably grab that before it sky rockets more than it has.

Yeah I think the sapphire is the potential for the biggest jump of his non auto stuff. I bought several between 18-20 bucks. The only issue with the card is the horizontal image but I’m in the minority and like horizontal cards

Robles is really interesting. Being as that teams not named the Yankees rarely have more then one Hobby Megastar playing at the same time

My only issue with horizontal is that they are harder to display. I do like some of them though, and the Saphire May end up being one of them.

Normally I agree, but baseball has been turned up on its head lately...

Trout and Ohtani
Bregman and Altuve (two years ago could have added Correa)
Acuna and Albies

That’s just the three I think of off the top of my head other than the Yankees.

The Nats could end up with more too, Turner, Scherzer, and Dozier if he hits over 40 again.

I love the look of the topps archives #265 and they can be had for $1. Not something you will make a lot of money on but I think it displays really nicely.

HOBBY superstars?

Ohtani, possible
Bregman, possible
Altuve, absolutely not
Albies, absolutely not
Acuna, on his way

Turner, Scherzer, and Dozier... not a chance

Ok so what if Soto hits .260 with 24 homers and Robles hits .300 with 20 homers and 35 steals winning ROY. Who is the teams superstar then? Robles is the better bet to become that 7-8 WAR a season for 5 year type imo.

I don’t think Altuve is an absolutely not. His RC is the second highest out of 2011 Update, and though his autos aren’t at Trout prices, they still sell better than a lot of people.

Scherzer does get hobby love. Let him get 300Ks this year and another Cy Young and he will become the best selling modern pitcher.

Yes, Dozier is a no way, just hopeful on my end, but Turner could still bring back some hobby love he almost had at the beginning.

So you think his Archives is the card over his Heritage action?

I know your opinion on what is a RC, so les just say which rookie year card.

His flagship RC is horizontal as is the chrome and sapphire chrome. But many like the vertical TCU and refractors. May need to pick up those as well.

No, not a chance. Action 100% of the time. Archives is a great looking common RC

Series 1 parallels like this beaut, and even more so blacks should not be overlooked! And you never know what kind of hitter long term he could turn out to be? Maybe his ceiling is Betts???

After heritage autos n actions and TC autos I love the TCU non auto refractors especially red! Vertical and such tough pulls too

Robles has tremendous upside imo. If he wasn't hurt, he'd have gotten the call over Soto from what I understand.

His HHN auto is banging!

I also like the TC sliding variation too

I personally think his Opening Day (vertical) card looks better than his Series 1 (horizontal) card. The blue foil in particular really pops. I wish they would have switched and used the OD image for Series 1.
