Default Whatcha Reading?

I thought it would be fun if everyone took a pic of the page they are on of the current book they are reading.

I’m reading The Violet Apple by David Lindsay. It’s an old oop book by the author of Voyage to Arcturus. Premise is a Green Glass Serpent, a family heirloom passed down from generations, is said to contain a seed from the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil (the Garden of Eden tree). Someone mishandles the figurine and it breaks. They decide to plant the seed and a tree quickly grows over the course of a couple of days. I’m almost at the point where they are about to eat it’s fruit. Cool book!

Whatcha reading?

I’ll try and get a page later. I’m reading Buckhorn. It’s by William W. Johnstone and J.A. Johnstone. They have a ton of Western series. I am almost done with all of them. I tell my wife I was born in the wrong era, and I should have been a mountain man.

I mostly read autobiographical books, and I had always hoped Benjamin Orr could have lived long enough to write one, but he sadly died in 2001. He is one of my favorite musicians and it was such a treat to see him as the subject of a retrospective. Great read so far.

I'm reading 11/22/63 for the second time. I'm listening to the Dark Tower series in my car for the 3rd time.

I should probably buy a new book.

This is so interesting thread! It's a pity that it has been years since the last reply
But, maybe mine will bring it to life.
I started reading The Maltese Falcon by Dashiell Hammett, and can say that the book is very interesting!
It's a detective.

Yes, it's true! I read this book some time ago; really worth reading.
I'm reading Hate Inc.: Why Today's Media Makes Us Despise One Another, written by Matt Taibbi, and it's also a very interesting one. And before this book, I had no idea that such a genre could be interesting to me. But I need to write a paper, and of course, I can always use help for https://edubirdie.com/plagiarism-free-essays and save some time and nerves, but this time I decided to try writing myself. And I chose this book as a base for my writing, and actually, I think that I succeeded. But if not, I still love the book and will just use help.

Haha...I reading Wizard and Glass again right now. Well not right at this moment, but it's what I currently reading. This is my 5th time reading through this series.

Almost done with Heat 2. At first, the idea of a sequel to Heat in book form with the bland title of "Heat 2" sounded dumb. Now I'm wishing they had made this into a movie. Pretty damn amazing.

Working on "Illuminations" by Alan Moore, a prose story collection from the greatest comics writer of all-time who retired from writing comics about 6 years ago. One of the stories is a thinly veiled trek through the history of comics industry that basically underscores why he retired. I lucked out and got a signed pre-order edition of it at regular retail price from Barnes & Noble.

After that, on deck is the latest from Stephen King called "Fairly Tale", the actual hardcover of which is sitting on my coffee table.
