I have been to both Three Stars locations. I enjoyed both stores.

Absolute is just down the road from my in-laws, great selection of singles and very friendly owners. When I was there (about 2 years ago) the wax selection was a little rough but I follow them on FB and they seem to be putting together a decent stock.

Lots of Group breaks and promotions for customers too which is always a plus

Out of the stores listed in the OP, my top recommendation would be Twin Cities Sports Cards in Golden Valley. My experience with Rob and Nick has been nothing but positive. There are several other solid shops on the list as well. Three Stars is good, as is Absolute Sports Cards. If you're looking for older wax and/or memorabilia, then Ultimate Collectibles in Hopkins may be the place for you.

Anyone know of a good hobby shop in the northern half of Minnesota? I like the twin cities shops, but much more of a drive and can't get there as often. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Looks like Brainerd has Sports Card Central. I have not been there. Just a quick google search turned up the result.

I've always enjoyed Three Stars. Worth noting that the location in Roseville is closed. They're going to re-open at a new Roseville location, but the address you have in the OP (2825 Hamline) won't be correct.

The shop in Brainerd is a throw back ... though she has had to succumb to the pressure of Magic/Warhammer she still has a good selection of new wax and a great selection of junk wax ... i think she had 2 for $20 on a bunch of mid-late 90s FB and BK boxes ... there was even some BB boxes. Store has been there a long time, definitely worth a stop.

I removed the Roseville Three Stars and Frantzens location. Then I added Sports Card Central as well as my new shop Pop Culture Archives in Columbia Heights.

There is a shop in the West I keep hearing about but I cannot remember it's name. I saw the New England thread. I like all the links and stuff. I'll work on that for the first post for everyone.
