Hello. I have been collecting Bryce Harper non-stop since 2011. I mainly focus on his early cards: USA, Junior College, Prospect, and Rookies. When it comes to his early cards, if the card has any parallels, I try to build an arc or circle that exhibits in concentric bands the colors of the spectrum and that is formed opposite the sun by the refraction and reflection of the sun's rays in raindrops, spray, or mist . . . sorry what I meant to say was rainbows!
I have had a lot of success, at least in my opinion, in terms of the building a rainbow aspect of my PC. However, there are still some missing pieces. I understand that superfractors of his cards are likely locked down in different collections so I don't let that drag me down, although at times it can eat away at my soul. Excuse the hyperbole, for the most part collecting baseball cards has been a hobby that I have thoroughly enjoyed and it has led to some wonderful memories. I started collecting when I was five years old, but when I got into college I stopped collecting. My educational expedition ended eight years later without a doctorate, but that was never the plan anyways. Bryce Harper was one of the main reasons why I got back into collecting. It has been an exciting ride collecting his cards and watching him play the past seven years. I hope you enjoy my collection. Early cards. Upper Deck, Aflac, JuCo, minor league, and USA. I am missing the gold #/50 and red #/5 and the superfractor USA refractor. I passed on a red BGS 10 for about $1600 and will probably never see it again. I missed out on a gold BGS 9.5 on here for about $450. I am thinking I can add the gold one day, the red will be very tough, and the superfractor will be likely impossible. I may be wrong but I think the superfractor sold for $12,500 and that was way back in 2010. I guess my best case scenario for now is that one of my refractors is his jersey #34/777. ![]() 2011 Bowman. I am missing the gold #/50, red #/5, and the superfractor. I am also missing the 1/1 red paper. The gold is likely attainable. I passed on a raw red for around $1000 several years ago. Might not see one again. I think the superfractor is owned by a member here or maybe it was pulled by him, I can't remember. For now I have to settle for his jersey number 1/1 also known as the eBay 1/1. The blue paper and one of the blue refractors are both his jersey number #34/500 and #34/250. The orange paper is also his jersey #34/250. Three eBay 1/1s in one picture! ![]() 2011 Bowman Chrome (and some extras to fill the page). I am missing the gold #/50, red #/5, and the superfractor for Bowman Chrome. I think I can add a gold. I passed on a BGS 9.5 red several years ago for $1000+. Probably won't see it again and the superfractor is probably gone forever. Not sure if they did a canary refractor, if so, that card is probably locked away too. My orange 9.5 is #1/25. Another eBay 1/1! Who needs superfractors when you can have an eBay 1/1? ![]() 2011 Bowman Platinum, Bowman Sterling, and 2011 Value Box exclusives. I am only missing the superfractor for Bowman Platinum. Not sure if they did a canary refractor, if so, that card is probably locked away too. I am missing the red 1/1 and canary 1/1 for Bowman Sterling. The red #1/1 sold for around $1400, but I missed out on it. I don't think they did a superfractor. Last but not least, the 2011 Value Box exclusives. I finally completed a rainbow! I know this should not really count, it is only 3 cards and is really easy to pull off, but hey it is a rainbow, right? What a legendary product those 2011 Value Boxes were! ![]() 2011 Bowman Inserts, Bowman Chrome Inserts, and Bowman Draft Inserts. Also 2011 eTopps. I am missing the x-fractor #/25 and atomic 1/1 for the Bowman's Best, for both the blue (Bowman) and green version (Bowman Chrome). I am missing the atomic 1/1 for the Bowman Futures. I am missing the refractor #/99, the x-fractor #/25 and atomic 1/1 for the Bowman Throwback. There were a handful of Throwback refractors that were sold several years ago for $150, I missed out on all of them. For the Bowman Draft Futures Game relics, I am missing the green #/25. I think they made a 1/1, so I am missing that too. Finally, the 2011 eTopps card #/1499. ![]() 2011 Topps Pro Debut, Heritage Minors. 2012 Topps Pro Debut, 2012 Bowman Sterling, 2012 Bowman Platinum, 2012 Topps Gold Rush, and 2012 Topps Fanfest. For the 2011 Topps Pro Debut I am missing the gold #/50 and the red #/1. Not sure if there are other parallels. Missing the same for 2012 Pro Debut. For the Heritage Minors I am missing the black #/62 and I don't know if there was a 1/1 or other parallels. I am also missing the Baseball America SP black #/62 and not sure if they made a 1/1. Furthermore, I am missing the base relic and jersey relic, as well as the parallels for each. For 2012 Bowman Sterling, I am missing the base, refractor #/199, gold #/50, black #/25, and red refractor #1/1. I do not think they made a superfractor, but they did make the 1/1 canary and I have it!!! I was thrilled to add the canary 1/1! Finally a real 1/1! I know the skeptics will say there is a red 1/1 so it is not really a 1/1 it is more like 1/1 A and 1/1 B. Silence! Let me have my moment in the limelight! Not sure if they made a superfractor, I hope not I don't need a 1/1 C. I believe the red 1/1 is damaged and I remember it selling for about $400-500 several years ago. For the Bowman Platinum, I am missing the blue that was released at the National Convention I believe and I think it is numbered to #/499. The Gold Rush card was tough to find in a BGS 9.5. I really like the Fanfest card because that was his first All-Star Game. ![]() 2012 Bowman and Allen and Ginter. For the paper version, I am missing the purple and red #1/1. For the chrome version, I am missing the gold #/50, red #/5, and the superfractor. I will likely be able to add a gold, but the other colors are unlikely. It took me forever to find an orange BGS 9.5. The orange paper BGS 9 is his jersey #34/250. A 1/1 in some people's minds, right? For the Allen and Ginter, I settled for a BGS 10 pristine of the base and a mini. I am missing all other parallels of these cards. ![]() 2012 Bowman Chrome and Finest. I am missing the red #/5 and the superfractor for Bowman Chrome. The Bowman Chrome blue refractor is his jersey #34/250. This is how I cope for not having a superfractor. The eBay 1/1 saves the day again! For 2012 Finest, I am missing the red refractor #/25 and the superfractor 1/1. The Gold refractor is his jersey #34/50. Again this is how I endure without a superfractor. ![]() 2012 Bowman Draft. For Bowman Draft I am only missing the the superfractor. The Bowman Draft Blue Paper is his jersey number #34/500. The Bowman Draft Chrome refractor is his jersey #34/300 and so is the blue refractor #34/250. No superfractor, no problem, jersey number parallels will have to do. This is my mantra so I can sleep at night. (And excuse the extra Finest X-Fractor. I completely forgot that I already had one). ![]() 2012 Topps Chrome and 2012 Panini Prizm. I am only missing the superfractor for Topps chrome. I bought a raw Topps Chrome SP and as you can see it didn't grade well. Looking to upgrade the grade. Please let me know if you have one or know someone that has a higher graded copy. Looking for a BGS 9.5. Also, The black refractor is his jersey number #34/100. Back to the eBay 1/1. For Prizm, I am missing the USA version in a BGS 10. I didn't chase the colors variations for Prizm, but I might one day. I think there was blue, red, and green not numbered and gold #/10. Not sure if there is a 1/1. ![]() 2012 Topps Update, Factory Set Variations, Minis. 2012 Topps Heritage SP Archives SP, 2012 Topps Series 2 SP. I am missing the gold sparkle, Walmart Blue, black #/61, the platinum 1/1, and wood 1/1 for update. For the factory set I am missing the orange #/210. I think they made an orange #/210 for update too now that I think about it. I am happy that I purchased the Heritage SP, Archives SP, and Series 2 SP early, especially the Heritage since that card has increased to a price significantly higher than what I purchased for. ![]() 2013 and 2014 cards. 2013 Finest gold refractor #/50, 2013 Topps Chrome gold refractor #/50, 2013 Heritage Refractor #/564, 2013 Tribute, and 2013 Finest Insert. Now onto the 2013 Bowman Chrome, really need a BGS 10 of the paper version. They added a bunch of new colors this year and it is no longer his prospect or rookie card era so I didn't chase the rainbow as persistently. For the 2014 Bowman, I really need a BGS 10 of the chrome card. I was very pleased to have bought the red raw and receive a BGS pristine 10 when I graded it! I was bummed out when they stopped making Bowman chrome cards of Harper in 2015 and 2016. I have an orange refractor #/25 of every Harper Bowman Chrome card from 2010-2014. ![]() Harper Relics 2013 Topps Tribute, 2012 and 2014 National Treasures, 2012 Topps Update Relic Also an extra 2012 Update Target Red and a cool 2013 Topps mini insert in the awesome looking 1972 design. 2013 Topps Tribute Relics. It's a rainbow folks! I have every parallel of this card, the base, blue #/50, Orange #/25, Gold #/15, Red #/10, and the Purple 1/1. The 2012 National Treasures had cool patches so I picked them up. I have the #/25 and the #/10. I think they made a #/5 and possibly a 1/1. I really like the 2014 National Treasures that say "Washington" and "Harper" because the card states that the jersey is from a specific game not simply game used. It even includes the date in which the jersey was used. No logos, but well done Panini. Then the National Treasures card with the laundry tag and MLB authentication sticker. It is #/5. This card is somewhat of an enigma because I thought Panini wasn't allowed to produce cards with any MLB stickers due to a licensing agreement. Maybe this one slipped through the cracks. ![]() Buttons, Relics, and Autos. First a 2011 Bowman Draft Futures Game Jumbo Relic #/5. Awesome Patch, not a great grade. Then a 2013 Topps Update In the Name 1/1 Letter H. I like this one because it represents his first All Star Game appearance in Kansas City. I know the doubters will call this a #/6 card because there are six letters in Harper. I also know they wear their MLB jerseys for the actual game, but still an awesome card in my opinion. Then a 2016 Panini Flawless Daimond #/20. Next some PSA cards. A 2009-10 Upper Deck Auto, pretty sure this is his first on card auto. Finally a 2012 Topps Chrome blue refractor #/199. I picked this up as a placeholder, until I could find a true gem BGS 9.5. (Finally found one). Next I have a 2013 Gypsy Queen mini button #/3. This button really looks game used because there is still dirt on it and it is scratched up. I love this card. Then I have a 2012 Topps Triple Threads White Whale Black Plate 1/1. This is his only on card auto printing plate from the set. I love this card because the text is very clear and the back of the card is not just a plate, it has a paper back. Topps took white whale literal by choosing an all white relic. Now another one of my favorites. A 2013 Topps Chrome Jumbo Patch Auto #/10. I believe the patch is from the jersey or pants nameplate. I just wish the card was designed horizontally so it would display his full name instead of a sliver of the "e" and the whole letter "r." Finally we have the 2012 and 2013 Bowman Sterling Silver Showcase auto #/25. The last row is full of buttons. I think button cards are amazing. National Treasures came out with a Harper button card in 2012 #/6 and I had to have it. I love my grading results too, a BGS 9.5! 2014 National Treasures came out with button cards again, but this time they had three versions #/6. I had to have one of each. I ended up with two of one version. ![]() Autos. First we have the 2011 Bowman Platinum dual auto Harper/Taillon #/89. Then the 2011 Bowman Platinum blue auto #/99. Then two of his 2011 Topps Diamond Anniversary autos #/60. They have different inscriptions. I believe there is a 3rd variation for the inscription that says, "Happy 60th Topps." If so, I am looking to add it. Next, the 2012 Bowman Lucky Redemption Rookie auto #/100. I can't believe this is a sticker auto, poor decision. Then we have the 2011 Bowman Draft Relic Auto blue parallel #/50 and my rarest 2011 Harper auto, the 2011 Bowman Draft Relic Auto green parallel #/5. Next, a couple of Harper and Trout dual autos. 2013 Topps Tier One #/25. Then the 2012 Sterling purple auto #/10. In my opinion this is a hugely underrated card and I am glad to have one. I believe they only made the purple and superfractor. That is only 11 cards. I also like the fact that it is from their rookie year when they both won the rookie of the year award. Although Trout has 2011 rookie cards, 2012 was technically his rookie year according to MLB criteria. Then the 2011 Bowman Sterling auto #/109. Now onto the 2009-10 Upper Deck Auto, pretty sure this is his first on card auto. Also have it in a PSA 10. Then the 2010 Upper Deck Signature Stars auto relic #/899. Next the 2011 Topps Heritage auto #/154 and red variation #/10. Finally the 2012 Topps Golden Moments Auto. ![]() Now some 2013 and 2014 Dynasty autos. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And finally the grand finale. The best of the best of my Harper Autos. First we have the 2012 Topps chrome gold refractor auto #/50 and a black refractor auto #/100. The Topps Chrome gold refractor auto is his jersey number #34/50. That is as good as a superfractor, right? Nope, but it will have to do. I don't know how there is a 9.5/10 gold on eBay, check out that card's centering. If that is 9 centering then my card deserves 8.5 centering at the very least. I will gladly take a bump to make it a 9/10. Then we have the 2012 Bowman Sterling black printing plate auto 1/1 and gold refractor auto #/50. This plate isn't as nice as my white whale, but it is still a one of a kind rookie auto. The naysayers will give me the Bond's Treatment and want to add an asterisk. Let me bask in my glory! Please refrain from uttering the words magenta, cyan, and yellow. Next we have the 2012 Bowman Chrome base auto, gold refractor auto #/50, and orange refractor auto #/25. Then we have the 2012 Bowman Draft base auto which is supposedly a SP. I also have the orange refractor version that is #/25. I think they only made the base, orange, purple, and superfractor of this card, so it is a very limited rookie auto. I will skip the card in the center for now. Next we have the 2011 Bowman auto, his first auto in a MLB uniform. Then the the 2010 Bowman Aflac auto #/230. This card has a beautiful example of Harper's early signature. Next we have the 2012 Topps Archives SP auto. Really tough to find this card in true gem condition. Then we have a 2012 Topps Finest Refractor auto #/198. And finally a 2011 Bowman Draft green foil auto #/350. Last but certainly not least, the card that forced me to create a Blowout User Name instead of being a lurker. I still lurk most of the time, but I would like to post more often. Without further adieu . . . well this one has a little story, so bear with me. If you have made it this far, then congratulations. It is January of 2012 and if Blowout Buzz existed all he or she would be talking about is the 2011 Topps Value Box. There were countless threads of monster hits from these small red boxes. The Hosmer superfractor auto was even pulled from one. Could this be possible? Was this real life? Or was this just an epic hoax like the Loch Ness Monster or the Chupacabra? I am a glutton for punishment, so I bought in. After twenty plus boxes I was looking like an absolute fool. I could hear the Target and Walmart employees chuckle because they knew of the value box conspiracy. That part was made up, but if it wasn't I would soon have physical evidence to prove that Blowout members were not bamboozling the masses with their Value Box hit stories. Out of a little red box that cost $14.95 I hit the card that is at the very center of the picture below. An orange refractor auto #/25. This is the centerpiece of my Harper PC. I had offers from many people that were in the $1500-$3000 range. I decided to keep it and I feel like I have built a nice PC around it. ![]() Thank you for reading, well I guess I should say looking because most people do not have an hour to read through all my commentary. I have built several other PCs over the past 7 years, but this one is my most impressive one based on the number of different cards that I have. I will try to post some of my other PCs when I have time. Thanks again for your time. |

What a fine collection you have here - I don’t collect much baseball anymore but I’ll go out of my way to get a 2018 Harper if he signs with Phillies.

best Harper collection I have seen. I collect Harper too but no where near your level. Definitely subscribing to this page to look at again in future.
I don't know if others can see it but I don't see the bottom group of photos

Standing right beside you! OP: I’m cheering you on in tracking down those /50’s, /5’s, and 1/1’s. This is quite impressive and I hope a few of your white whales come out from the shadows with this post. And I’m also impressed you’re not relentlessly praying to the baseball gods that he goes to NY since you have thousands of dollars on the line with his decision. Write Bryce a letter and explain your situation, and he might take your concerns into account as he narrows down his destinations.

Have the 2012 bowman chrome red refractor /5 graded 9.5 and the Bowman Draft Relic Gold /50 that I would entertain moving.
If interested let me know.

The bottom image works fine last time I checked. Is anyone else having this issue? Quote:
In the end, I am glad that I have narrowed my focus to his 2009-10 USA cards, 2011 prospect cards and 2012 rookie cards. I still have a few things from other years, but those years are not my priority. If I tried to keep building and add every card it would have become overwhelming. I just can't see Harper as a Yankee. If it happens, it happens, but I grew up despising that team and still do today. I still have respect for them, their players, and all they have accomplished throughout their history, but it would be tough for me to see him in Yankee pinstripes. Quote:

I just got my 2012 Five Star RC /50 in. Only one of hand I saw that you didn’t have.

For some reason the bottom pic wouldn’t show up on work computer but it will on my phone using tapatalk. My favorite one is the 2011 bowman chrome auto. Bought it raw and it looked good so sent it in to bgs. Came back as 9.5/10 with 2-10, 9.5 and a 9 subgrades. Was always tempted to sell during his peaks but bought it for 345 so just going to ride it out. Named my son Bryce so all my cards will be going to him Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Love the collection. We are still kicking ourselves for losing the Sterling /10 Auto in the Summer for less than $700

Wonderful stuff. I like that early Archives card, always wish I had one.
I was babbling about his 2013 cards with the Rookie Cup on my blog the other day. It lead me to considering the photo variation of his '13 Topps Chrome card #220, the 'Signing Autographs' variation, same as an SP of Topps #1 that year. So I was wondering if you have ever seen one of those Chrome SPs for sale over the last 5 years? |

The 2011 Bowman Chrome is my favorite as well. Congratulations on your grade. I almost bought a BGS 9.5/10 auto, raw card review of a 2011 Bowman Chrome refractor auto for $500 many years ago. It was on eBay for awhile, but I didn't know if I should trust the raw card review because Beckett can change the grade if the card is not submitted the day that they put the sticker on it. I am kicking myself now because even if it was a 9/10 it would be worth a lot more than $500 today. I have been tempted to sell my Orange auto over the years, but the fact that I pulled it out of a $14.95 box at Target has made it easier for me to hold it. Funny that you brought up naming your son Bryce. Before my daughter was born we were discussing names. We chose to wait until birth for the gender, so we were coming up with all sorts of names. Since I am a huge Harper fan, my spouse suggested we name the baby "Harper" because it could work for a boy or girl. I was tempted, but we eventually decided on something else after my daughter was born. Quote:
Well it wasn't the first time I missed out on a card I needed and it certainly won't be the last. If any one has either one of these cards for sale or trade, please let me know. Also congrats on picking up the 53 Mays. I haven't jumped into the vintage world, but 53 is a beautiful set. Quote:

I don't think I have ever seen the 2013 Topps Chrome SP photo variation card. I did some research and his 2013 Topps Chrome SP photo variation is him holding the NL Rookie of the Year plaque above his head, not signing autographs. It looks like this: ![]() The SP photo variation does not have the rookie cup on it. |
